What a great victory. Very pleased with Swedens performance! England had it in their heads that we needed to draw which made the game very edgy IMHO. It could've been disasterous. Having said that, we played alot better in the second half. And Seaman? DON'T SCARE US AGAIN LIKE THAT! ;) |

The UK is made up of England (boo, hiss), Wales, Scotland and northern Ireland. Why don't we have southern Ireland also? Well they won their independence. Northern Ireland is still occuppied by the colonial oppressors England, hence the problems there. Its quite similar to your country and the Basque region. The 'Celts' (Welsh, Scottish & Irish) have a common hatred of the English. Mainly for their arrogance. The rivalry between us and the English manifests itself in sports, especially rugby. There was something on the radio the other day where they asked people from various countries around the world why they all supported the team playing against England and they all replied "because they occupied our country". Yeah that was funny. I think the referee was great , very clean match. Only errors was Henkes warning and like you said that penalty headstart. A referee has so much part of the games outcome. I hope we will get to see more of this guy in the cup. |
