Do a search on the net and you'll bring up a lot on it. I
can do it (very occasionally) very good when I do.

isn't lucid dreaming astral projection?

No :p

Silly nanotech. Lucid dreams are dreams where you have a
reasonable ammount of control, and are fully aware of the
fact that it is a dream.

Erm, it has been hypothesised that astral projection is
actually just people lucid dreaming in a particular way.

I have a friend who fucked up a whole year of studying when
he tried that lucid dreaming. The point is to wake up and go
to sleap several times at night until you can stay in the
"zone" between awakeness and sleep. He was kind of mentally
unstable, before he tried this shit, and a year with not
anough sleep wasn't good for him...

I tried that kind of stuff for a little while.

Requardless of how mentally stable you are, that kinda shit
fucks you up.

I also went around for weeks at a time making a point of not
knowing what time it is. You would be suprised at how strong
your sence of intuition and focus can become with these kind
of exercises... Altho you become crazy.

I think the best time to try it, is when you have long
holidays. Or when you become a famous electronica-star and
have all the spare time you want :) .The people who manage
to do it, think it's great, but most of them seem to be mad
:)

in that case i have lucid dreams here and there...but i
don't have constant control of them like i read about...i
can control some parts here and there ranging from minimal
to medium...but i've read cases where ppl start getting into
all this religous hogwash about invoking spirits while in
it...

"religous hogwash about invoking spirits while in
it... "

All that will actually be part of the lucid dream - they
believe it, so it occurs in the dream...

I made a REM-sleep table once and tried to set the
alarmclock in order to be waken up when in REM. It was quite
successfull actually. If you smoke spliffs regularly dreams
seem to disappear. Stop smoking and BANG: You have the most
vivid dreams imaginable....

an easy trick is to wake up early, stay awake for an hour,
then go back to sleep. that's always when the crazy shit
happens to me -- sleep paralysis, lucid bits, whatever. i've
not particularly worked on it, though, and every time i've
realized i was dreaming, i've woken up. i never remember
much from my dreams. the bits of dreams i do remember tend
to be things i've dreamed about repeatedly.... maybe,
eventually, i'll hit one of those repeaters and realize i'm
dreaming; figure it out by accident.

i also suppose it's possible i have lucid dreams all the
time, and forget them all.

When I stopped smoking weed I started having the most
insanely vivid, bizarre dreams. Now I have oodles of dreams
every night, and sometimes lucid. Last night I had a dream
that "Grey" aliens were trying to abduct me, but I fought
them off, grabbing handfuls of their blue-jello pectorals
and drove wooden stakes through their chests.

For more speculation and nonsense on dreams, watch
this.
