According to your own opinion, who is going to win this
one? Which site is going be the king of the multi-faceted
electronic artist website?

I personally think they both will probably be side-by-side
in the future in electronic music link pages as essential
resources for the entire IDM scene. I would also like to see
a alliance in the future, which would be fantastic.

Personally, it doesn't matter much to me. I find out about
artists mainly through the messageboards, not through news
and websites. The sites are going to be great, and the info
on them is going to be really helpful and interesting, but
the board is still what I'll learn the most.

Yeah and this site has the best board imo

Phobia has generated a greater community through afx.nu - so
in a way, he's already won.

I meant to say the board is still WHERE I'll learn the most.
Gah.

it's not a war. i would gladly welcome a fusion between the
sites and it was damn close it actually happened this time.
i think the two upcoming sites have to live their own lifes
for a while and we'll see what the future brings us.

the next giant step could much possible be a fusion between
xltronic and watmm.

but joyrex and i weren't ready this time. :-/ we're both
controlfreaks - and that's the main problem, really.

i wish joyrex+crew the best of luck and im sure the two
upcoming sites will have some common projects together.

It is a competition in a good way. They improve their stuff,
and you fans benefit :)

If the past indicates anything...

WATMM.COM = The electronic music resource.

AphexTwin.nu = The electronic music community.

I made a long thread about joyrex vs. .nu on the beta board,
but very few of you will have seen/remember that.

I mean xltronic.com = The electronic music community.

That is, Joyrex always had better and more frequently
updated news & current info, this site always had the better
community.

i tihnk itll stay the same...phobiazero's site will be like
the community, and joyrex's will be the resource...
joyrex has stronger connections (at least..i think he does)
with more artists...so youll be able to go to watmm and get
information on...well...=\ the 4 artists joyrex has
chosen...

and, if you dont want people saying "this is an aphex twin,
not an (insert name of artists her) site" you go to the
messageboard of that artist at xltronic!

........watmm june 3rd...! yay!
xltronic...........whenever!...yay!

this is a very exciting time here. if a union was to be
formed, it could be the greatest electronic supersite ever
(on some level). like a virtual electro nation, bringing all
the people together to form a unit would bring more power to
the fans as a whole.

i don't see a "vs." being called for. common projects and
co-op would be awesome. adding strengths together make for
best results.

I don't plan on and never had said I was going to cover
*just* four artists - I'm just starting with the four most
popular and influential first, and then branch out.

It's not a war or vs. anything - I'm doing my thing, Phobia
is doing his. The smart user will visit both sites on a
regular basis to keep up to date with the latest electronic
music happenings.

"Round 1, Fight!"

i hope this messageboard survives...... i mean in its
current form (in terms of content)

i dont think of it as an afx ONLY board.... but MAINLY afx..
w/ tons of other good music, and tons of other good stuff,
even if its not directly music related

i would hate for it to be to limited

OR

i think it would also sort of ruin some aspects of it if
there were seperate boards for all the artists..... there
wouldn't be one comunity anymore
and a miscelanious (spelling) board, for NON electronic
music topics, would just ruin it...
it would make it much to constrictive.... no friendly
community...

this way, u can still read all u can handle about music,
plus there's the other stuff

oh ya, definitely same here (although i haven't been here
THAT long..... i LOVE IT!

(ya hear that Phobiazero? I LOVE IT!)
uh... anyways:

i would definitely stick around... even if changes i dont
think i'd like end up happening
(who knows i could end up liking them?
and being wrong?)

PS: phobe:

cool feature to have a selection of different artists'
tracks there for the sampling!
it seems like a great way to discover new artists/music that
you might not have heard of through other means

will this be a feature of the full site?
hm..... possibly featuring members' music?
