Audiogalaxy and Kazaa are fading away... now where will we
go for all our download needs? ..terrible. just terrible.

I use only Soulseek nowadays. It's not THAT unstable! It
goes offline for an afternoon sometimes, that's fine, I can
wait.

WinMX works, but I HATE it... never works for me. Morpheus
and Kazaa, I uninstalled them a couple weeks ago. Garbage.

Audiogalaxy still works, doesn't it?

after napster died, everyone went on to kazaa and
audiogalaxy. i wonder which one will be next ... i need my
daily downloads. :)

it just gets annoying at soulseek when the admin keeps
posting an emergency message

Yeah, I heard it was getting shut down... I just didn't
believe it. That's depressing. :-( You could find absolutely
anything on there.

Mostly everything I want/need is on Soulseek, though, so
it's not too tragic, I guess.

soulseek is the best p2p out there focusing on electronic
music. i know nir is struggling like hell with it and he's
doing a tremendous job.

after the end of napster, i was so happy to find
audiogalaxy. you're right, the index was fucking amazing! no
I don't know where to go... soulseek is only for electronic
music or?

Hungrig, you should really try out Soulseek. It's mostly
electronic oriented, I guess, but you can find much more
than that on there.

The OpenNap network.

WinMX is the most popular Windows client, I think.

Heck yeah, it's a breeze! You can organize search results by
the file quality, the folder, the name, the download
speed... you can download whole folders to save time, you
can browse which users are on and which have the fastest
connections, add people to your user list if they have lots
of great stuff... so you can steal it later. :-)... it's
great.

And you don't get so many ''remotely queued'' transfers and
broken downloads. It's tons better than Kazaa and the other
ones.

I think any file sharing network with a central indexing
server (this includes OpenNap and Soulseek) is eventually
doomed when it gets popular enough to garner the attention
of the RIAA, so use it while you can.

Gnutella is the most RIAA-resistant network, but it has
scalability problems and the clients aren't as featureful as
ones most people are accustomed to (although they are
catching up - see Limewire).

Keep in mind that soulseek is offline right now... but when
it comes back online you will realize the second coming of
christ.
