Hmmm, I'm listening to this album Ha by Talvin Singh, and I
can't get over how cool Indian instruments are... I love the
Sarengi (I believe that's what it's called)... it's
gorgeous... and of course the tablas, the sitar, all that
good stuff... I need to get some Ravi Shankar stuff
dammit!!! So yeah, what are your favorite instruments?

oh, and that certain style of singing... the style Nasrut
Fateh Ali Khan sang... I believe it's called Qawwli or
something... my goodness, that's fabulous... the voice is
really used as an instrument in that style...

I don't like World Music! I don't even like the sitar very
much...

I just like the Western standard stuff... violins, cellos,
any kind of strings like that are just candy to my ears. And
I play guitar, so I have to list that.

world music is fabulous... I guess I'm just kinda bored of
standard guitar, bass and drums... that's part of the reason
I like electronic music so much... but World Music also
appeals to me because there's so many different styles for
me to discover...

hope that last part about discovery didn't sound too lame!!
:)

Aye! My favourite instrument is the bass guitar - I've been
playing for err... more than 5 years.

Also, those ORGAN GRINDER things are pretty impressive if I
say so myself - I gotta get me one of those; and a little
dancing monkey to go along.

I'm a sucker for piano music....

satie and chopin make it sound soooo beautiful

Indian music is really warm too... some of it is REALLY
relaxing.
Oriental (i think) instruments, like the koto, are cool and
make the music really sharp - similar to the movements in
martial arts. Sharp but graceful
