love is hard work

don't believe in the Hollywood style of romantic love

most people settle for companionship trust and give & take
(and sex..oopps !)

If thats love, yeah I believe in it

what is 'love' to you all?

i keep seeing couples and just coming to terms that the
world thinks love is hanging around with someone. like
friendship wise.

think about it.
people say they love their parents and their family, but
that is just a natural obligation.
and people that hang with mates for real long times, like
more than ten years, say they love them.

but is that love?

just getting to know someone?

this shit is really fucking with my brain.

zombiekev: to me love between a guy and a girl relationship
wise is what I think were talking about and what you
intended to talk about here. Its what I was gabbin on about.
Love .... is not something you can talk about and express
with just words, I think its actions, and sacrifices...
stuff like that. A feeling.... you cant explain.

Nah man,.thats in the beginning,......how do U call it?
"infatuation"(?)
That shit wears off after a year,..it makes room for a much
warmer feeling of someone 2 depend on.

love = having a deep mutual respect trust & care for
someone

Zombikiev, you seem to think it should be something more ,
but the strong chemical thing that gives the really strong
feelings of happiness and high , thats great but its just
chemical and biological to do with endorphins in your brain
and it lasts often no more than 3 months (maybe 3 minutes in
some cases LOL )

and its linked to the biological predisposition for coupling
& sexual/emotional security

Its chemical, don't take it too deep
love for all things and for yourself is more important than
the love/idolisation of another person :)

do'nt fret,, If you DO find it , it'll probably be when you

Trying to asnwer "What is love?" with a series of words is
very crude and limited in scope. It's just not one of those
things that can easily be explained. Besides, as a society
we like to idealise it and turn it into some sort of
ultimate truth, but it means different things to different
people...it is NOT an absolute. At least, that's how I feel
about it.

I would like chocolate love, please.

yup. all the way. love for your friends, too, the people you

I think that:

Love is nature's defence mechanism to promote tolerance so
couples don't break up so children can grow up with two
parents. People naturally want to feel loved because that
(sometimes indirecty) raises the chance to make children.
Also, tolerance between groups of people increases chances
of survival while still making people adapt or else they're
not loved.

Erich Fromm has a lot to say about love in his book the Art
of Loving. I know that the title sounds kind of cliche but
it really is a relevant book on the topic of love. if I
remember correctly love in its purest form(unconditional
love) is the giving of oneself without expectation of
return. the book also tells us that love is an active
process. when can say we love someone all we want but until
we show it in action it doesn't exist. someone of who say
you haven't found it yet will indeed find it eventually.
and when you do be prepared to experience the ups and downs
that true love will bring. right now I myself am in a
valley. my girlfriend of four years whom I lived with
decided to move out about two weeks ago. the sad part is
that I had purchased an engagement ring and planned to
propose to her on the first of June. man, I feel like an
idiot. she does love me she says however she claims she is
not in love with me. strange...I was always taught that
being in love had little to do with loving.

take care

dusty

I believe love is what would make you say to yourself, "Hey,
I wish that was me getting hit by that car instead of my
dear beloved girlfriend."

And if you could switch places and get smashed by that car
instead, love would be what would make you want to die in
the arms someone who meant everything to you - ie. your
girlfriend, Richard D. James.

love is what you want it to be... depends on what you want
to risk ... "love is in the air"

I love a person:
I want to spend my whole life with her
her happiness is what I want more
she looks the prettiest to me (surely she is not, but...)
everything I do is directed to her or us.
this last 2 years with her had made me a happy man (though
tonight I am very sad, nothing to do with her)
she makes me smile so many times a day...
she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she

love is irrational and unexplainable...
it doesn't make sense no matter how we want it to, and thats
what makes it so desired and so great...

i may be wrong, but i don't think i need it right now, and i

maybe all my life... but that's allright, i'll just see how
i do without if it happens. :)

man, i really still love the woman,,, but she's gone,,, but
there is no doubt in my mind what i feel for her is love,,,,
people say its better to have loved and lost than to
never love at all,,, well i think that is all a load of
f**kin bulls**t! it has caused so much pain and anguish
that i wish i had never even met her,,, 'cause if you love
someone, nothing makes that love go away,,, not evern if
they cheat on you or trash your car,,, it's still there,,,
and you still have to live with it,,

i guess to wrap this up: yes, love truly exists--but if you
asked me, i would have to tell you that i am definitely
anti-love,,,, but i used to be pro-
