I read / collected some information about tourettes a while back. Here is a summary of the info i managed to get:
Over 100 years ago, the French physician Georges Gilles de la Tourette wrote an article in which he described nine individuals who, since childhood, had suffered from involuntary movements and sounds and compulsive rituals or behaviors. In his honor, this constellation of symptoms was named Gilles de la Tourette's Syndrome, but over time, it became known as just Tourette Syndrome or Tourette Disorder. But it is not just the name that has shifted over time. The
very definition of Tourette Syndrome and our understanding of it have also gone through significant shifts.
Isn't Tourette the "Cursing Disease?"
No, it's not, despite media fascination with a symptom that less than one third of those with Tourette get.
Tourette is a tic condition in which the individual has had a variety of involuntary movements and at least one involuntary sound. These involuntary movements or utterances (known as "tics") often look or sounds like nervous habits, allergy symptoms, or intentional misbehavior.
Like many conditions, Tourette is a spectrum disorder. Most cases are mild, but there are those who may have multiple tic symptoms accompanied by other conditions. Tourette comes in many "flavors."

A POEM BY A KID WITH TOURETTES
I have a spider inside me.
It makes my lips smack.
I have a spider inside me
and it makes me feel black.
His name is Tourette's.
I have a kangaroo inside me.
It makes me jump up and down.
I have a kangaroo inside me
and it makes me feel brown.
His name is Tourette's.
I have a frog inside me.
It makes me warty and mean.
I have a frog inside me
and it turns me green.
His name is Tourette's.
I have an eel inside me
and it makes me slither.
I have an eel inside me
and it makes me shiver.
His name is Tourette's.
I have a wild horse inside me.
It makes me feel like prancing.
I have a wild horse inside me
and it's always dancing.
His name is Tourette's.
I have a tiger inside me
and it makes me growl.
I have a tiger inside me
and when I get mad, I go "r-o-w-l!"
His name is Tourette's.
I'm going to shoot those animals.
I'm going to bring a banana.
I'm going to shoot those animals.
I'm going to wear a bandanna.
And then the puppy inside me
will make me happy and play.
And then the puppy inside me
won't ever run away.
His name is Justin.

The musical part at the end is great. Also nice to see another side to the usual one we're fed when you see documentaries on telly.

try osho, deliberately induce tics at home, have that "homer, think before you say each word" moment in the privacy of your home rather than when someone cuts you off in traffic six hours later
