01) ever since i first came to this site i have been dying
to do an AFX remix -- problem is, i have no idea how to set
about doing one....suggestions please!

02) what year was AB5 made? i am downloading the mp3s again,
and i like to sort my music chronologically, so i want to
know where this LP slots in :)

I think Ab 5 belongs between classics ('94) and ICBYB ('95)

To get started remixing AFX, I would do this:
Choose a song
Take the samples from the song
Arrange and add to them with audio software.

how would i effectively sample the tracks? to seperate a
particular sound from the surrounding noise?

Very difficult to do that. :(
There are certain combinations of equalization which can
help reduce the surrounding noise. Basically, you have to
spend a lot of time with mixing boards/software to get the
other noises out. And as far as I know, it's guess and
check.

yeah i had thought of that luke -- but hell, i dono if
spending hours on my crap computer trying to isolate a synth
line would be worth it :(

(PS raimons, maybe you thought i was meaning a cover
version, like your excellent cover version of MILKMAN -- but
i wanted to do a real remix)

thANx ben - it would be great to do one, but short of taking
a year to use EQs to isolate, god knows how i'm gonna do it!
maybe in that course/studio thing you are doing, you can ask
the experts!;)

(and thad -- NO :P )
