Confield "to weird"?

I just read this in a post that I have seen expressed
before and that is "Confield is to weird". I can't tell you
how disappointed I am to hear this out of this community. I
know everyone has varrying tastes but I would never shun
anything for being "to weird". This genre has pushed popular
music to extremes that I have never heard before and love it
for that.

Umm... there is not many rants on this board is there? :-)

Hey Apt, I love Confield. It seems to me that the people
who aren't feeling it don't respect the idea of sacrificing
substance for feeling, but I think maybe they just don't
give it a chance because Confield is damn raw. Maybe
somebody who doesn't like it can speak for their self
though.

I don't think it's ''too'' weird, I think it's just weird
enough, without being too inaccessible. It was my first
Autechre experience, for better or for worse... it was tough
getting into it. I went backwards, kinda...

I am getting into Confield now, and I love pen expers.
really neat stuff, unlike anything I have heard before,
really.

Compared to Chiastic Slide, Confield is actually very
decent.

I liked Chiastic Slide, even tho the middle three tracks are
kinda pointless

Autechre is so special. People lump their material in with
anything else as if it was just some other act soon to be
stomped out, not even that good or something. Weird.

indeed, autechre will be remembered in the years to come for
sure. Think about, in 20 years are you still gonna rock all
this obsure shit no. Afx autechre mabey squarepusher and
BOC. Dj Shadow this is timeless stuff. everyone else
while great is not what might saw is timeless i might be
wrong. people are way more in to bands like faust and neu!
than they were when they first came 30 years ago
ya....,.,.,.,

It's definitely sexy... Cfern would be good to strip to,
Uviol, Eidetic Casein, Parhelic Triangle, Lentic
Catachresis... good songs to fuck to.

I always thought EP7 was weird, too... it's SO robotic.

I dont think this type of music IS timeless, I think it will
still be listened to, but in reallity its still followed by
a lot of people out of the technical side, which means
things like Incunabula and stuff doesnt have any, or much
impact. sure people will still listen to them, but I think
its bands that mix the technical and more contempory
elements, like Tortoise that will stand the test of time.
though if any of the "IDM" type electronic artists last, you
know its going to be Autechre, Aphex and Boards of Canada.

well thats bollocks as the english might say. Bands like
the beatles, pink floyd, hendrix were pushing technology to
the abosult limit and no-ones say that suff is overtly
technical. I love that music so its say to its timeless you
know cause it still sells. autechre are what is defined as
a cult band......remember that they could turn comerical at
some point to come...well probably not.. and anyways
country and rock music on the radio is closer to electonic
music than you think.. there isn't an song out today that
hasn't been computerly doctored. expect the strokes and all
that rambling

most of the weirdness of confield wears off after many
listens. but it's definitely the autechre album that took
me the most time to get into.
