They "look" nice, but are those dynavoice drivers made by dynaudio? man if they are these are some beauties. Celestion speaks are nice also for the money. Since your by the netherlands you should check out the Final electrostatics. I think their site is final.nl they are meant more for audiophile grade but can be quite loud if matched with a very decent amp (no single ended tubes of course) |

depends on what your listening to, and your tastes. personally i like deep bass from 10's... 3 6.5's will produce some great punchy bass, but when it comes down to low Hz and loudness, the 10's will out-do. but typically you match speaks like this with a seperate subwoofer with a 10,12, 15, or 18" in it. Get higher 80hz + ranges with the 6.5's and 80Hz and below with the sub. |

hmm, yes.... i love deep bass as well. a separated subwoofer would solve the "problem" but i'm not sure my amplifier can handle this. this one is interesting as well: |

well their sensitivity is about the norm.. 91deb/watt so you'd need a big solid state amp that'll put out a good 200watts RMS to each speak. i'd say its more "efficient" to go with a active subwoofer (powered at the sub no juice necessary) and those nice 6.5's... that way you get a nice full range |

I don't know if you've already made up your mind, but I recently got a pair of paired with a sub, and they are the best sounding loudspeakers I've had yet. |

A sub is a must.... I can't live without one now...music has so much more weight & texture... In many ways, Bass is more important that reproducing those Hi-frequcies..(most of which only dogs can hear anyway..)... |

yea hifi shops are for people with no limits on spending money.. they'll sell ya a pair of martin logan electrostats for 4 grand easilly and $150 for each speaker cable. |

I use B&W 603 S2's for about 2 years now, powered by 2 x Rotel 981 power amps in bridged mono, a Creek OBH12 passive preamp and an Arcam Alpha 8SE CD player The Rotels destroyed my Mission 733i speakers at a party, they kick out 360 watts RMS into 8 ohms EACH, and my clever flatmate decided to turn volume on full |

shit... 360RMS at 8 ohms??? well if you run it in bridged mono then it wuld be 16 ohms stereo, 8 ohm mono... you sure its not at 4ohm mono? |

nope, definately 8 ohm, I think they would get extremely hot into 4 ohm. check the rotel website. The 603's are 8 ohm anyway. I would say avoid subs... unless you're willing to shell out the best part of a grand... I love solid bass, but subs can overwhelm the music making it sound dull, then you'll be constantly upping the volume to try and make it sound more exciting. If you get some half-decent sensitive floor-standing speakers the bass will shake your guts plenty anyway. subs are great for home cinema, but if you're planning on extended music listening, budget it into better normal speakers |

Especially for me, we did an experiment in physics and I can a lower pitched bracket than most people. i.e I can hear what to most is "sub-audible" but I can't hear as "high" as most people either. |

i got a rotel 931mkII amp, and B&W 601 S2's... sounds like the rotels are a popular choice! i'm mighty pissed off tho as my technics cd player has died :( |
