it doesn't surprise me if Hex got signed. just listen to
Lctrogirl's stuff. it's 100% shit. Original, perhaps. But
shit.

No offense, Hexagonal Dope. smileyface.

does being signed to a label make your music sound better?

offline plugexpert from Nijmegen (Netherlands, The) on 2002-05-01 00:45 [#00201782]
Points: 1073 Status: Lurker

no not better,....it adds credibility to your musical
skillz. It's a cool thing for insecure artists to brag about
on popular messageboards.

(BTW I've signed over 5 contracts last year,..some for
comps. some for internet selling)

yeah I'm the best

really? cos i want to get signed if it'll encourage folks
listen to my tracks :D

i could get signed easily if i wanted to.
i could just march down to philly, five minutes away, and
goto one of a hundred labels and solicite my sound.

if i wanted to i could get vinyl produced for five hundred
bucks and make my own label.

its all up to me.

you're right Zombie,..U could press your own copies,...but
it would be nicer if Rephlex or Planet Mu or Warp would sign
U after hearing your shiznit.
They probably won't though:-( as I believe they don't listen
to demo's,....they receice hundreds a week,...it's all
politics/and who you know

offline cygnus from nowhere and everyplace on 2002-05-01 00:56 [#00201797]

why not just make a demo w/ a few tracks on it and give it
out to people? if ppl like your music wont they want more?

offline cygnus from nowhere and everyplace on 2002-05-01 00:58 [#00201800]

thats what i do. but its not music. people are cunts; "COULD
YOU HAVE SOMEHOW GIVEN ME A DATA CD, IT DOES NOT SOUND
RIGHT"

offline plugexpert from Nijmegen (Netherlands, The) on 2002-05-01 01:00 [#00201806]
Points: 1073 Status: Lurker

well I've send out demo's to radio stations that have ended
up in decent airplay, with notice of my e-mail adress during
the shows.

That lead to hundreds of e-mails from people asking me where
they could buy my music or if they could get a copy from me
for some money.

Flattering shit!

And a good way to get your name out.

no stations around here except colleges play electronic
music, except that poppy dance shit.

offline plugexpert from Nijmegen (Netherlands, The) on 2002-05-01 01:22 [#00201838]

U mean plugging the plugexpert myself on radio?(<-I'm not a
DJ on a National radiostation)

erm I guess sending out demo's to radio stations/labels is a
way to actively reach key people in the biznis.

offline cygnus from nowhere and everyplace on 2002-05-01 01:22 [#00201840]

i dont mean to sound like a troll, but relying on a radio
station is silly when you could just give out the music
yourself.

it's like "i want to remain mysterious and famous, it should
be unusual to see my face! WoowooWOOWO!"

2. Thanks for all your help
3. Look out for "sienvielle" in sept.
4. Over and Out

i don't know what exactly to think, but i still keep this
"gangbongfast" track by "hexagonal dope", cause i like it.
the others were crappy, but this one is good.
well, this name "sienvielle" is something that can prove
some things in future.

Hey, at least he said gangbong fast was good :)

Some question for you if you deign to answer:

Sorry if it's top secret or anything, but are you writing
the other 3 tracks for sienvielle or are they unreleased
tracks of yours that we wouldn't have heard?

How different will the 2 versions of existing songs be?

Oh and doesn't Sienvielle loosely translate as "Breast Town"
in french?

Thank you.

i said i didn't know what to think.
there were enough other people saying you're lying,
i was just wondering...
and the other tracks were... hmmm... well... crappy.
sorry, i can't find another word.
is that such a big problem for you?
if so, then please ignore.
but, yeah, i liked one at least.

you people can't see the wood for the trees --- her music
was obviously made using good equipment (she did claim her
father was a (fairly) well-known musician - indicating
access to musical shit) -- but the tracks weren't exactly
original or mindblowing huh - go back and re-evaluate
