About darn time we got some Orbital fans in here, I thought

Middle Of Nowhere and In Sides, my personal favs. Seen
Orbital a few years ago. GOD DAMN! if anyone has seen them
live they would know what I'm talkin bout.

Orbital was probably my first introduction to IDM. My best
friend got me into them with Lush. The rest, they say, is
history.

I was kind of disappointed w/ altogether though, save for a
few tracks.

Yup, they're indeed awesome live.

Ah, I also remember when afx toured with the Sneaker Pimps.

The Box is by far my favorite track tho. The real 20 min
long one.

offline revpersona from Plainfield (United States) on 2002-04-30 04:26 [#00200324]

Yeah, that one is good, but Out There Somewhere Part 2 and
The Girl With the Sun in Her Head were my fav off In-Sides.

I wonder what approach they're next album will take.

I dunno.. I have liked everything Orbital has done so far.
And I have listened to them for MANY years. To me they are
one of those groups that you can buy anything of and not be
let down.

Insides is spectacular. They haven't topped it yet :/

Yes, I've been listening to Orbital ever since I heard
Halcyon & On & On off the Mortal Kombat move back in like
94' I believe.

And your right, when you get an album of theirs, your not to
be let down.

Yeah, I agree they haven't topped In-Sides, but that's like
my fav. album of all time.

All of their other releases are very good too.

go!!

such a moron. They are indeed awesome live.

I think In Sides is amazing... I had it for ages before I
thought that though... The Girl With the Sun in Her Head is
my favorite I think... it just sounds sunny, and happy...
even though I believe it's supposed to sound sad or
something... :)

I bought Middle of Nowhere just because it was under techno
and I had seen their name come up a couple times. Turns out,
that CD kicked serious ass.

I like In Sides. There are some things they make, that I
just can't get into.

It was Orbital that got me into Aphex funnily enough.
I went to see Orbital in '93 when their brown album just
came out, and Aphex and Drum Club were also playing (all
live sets). Needless to say Aphex was seriouly awesome and
I've never looked back.
I was disappointed with Snivilisation, Insides, but their
last 2 are pretty cool.
Still reckon their brown album is the all round best though,
not a crap track on it.

aahh,Orbital!! It's "Snivilisation" that gets me hot and
bothered!(sorry,Loogie!). JFGS(just f*ckin' great stuff).

In Sides is beautiful. Adnan's is just way too good, like
the sunset of the best day of my life.

Yeah, In-Sides as most will agree upon is their best work to
date.

That must of been an awesome show, Orbital, afx, and Drum
Club.

of all the live acts i've seen in the community, Orbital and
Squarepusher are the tops (as far as artists that have a
connection w/ the audience). Orbitals visuals put them a the
final step above.

they never put out a bad thing.

maybe I'll have to give in sides a second listen as everyone
seems to like it...
then again everyone likes confield!

I find with Orbital that just keep on building up the
melody, where some acts focus on the percussion... both
styles can be awesome, but in a ten minute song Orbital just
keeps on adding to an already sweet melody, and at the end
it's really something to experience...

ok, I got Middle of Nowhere today, and I like it so far...
it sounds a bit strange and different, but I found that with
In Sides first when I got it... and I love that one now, so
I'll give this one some good listens before I make a final
judgement... it sounds good so far though...

Orbital 1 the green/yellow one is very cool. a great
companion for listening while you work. i got so much more
from it that way.

albums but they don't do it for me.

I want to get the brown album next... Halcyon is one of my
fav electronic songs ever... I think Orbital are
excellent... they have such a unique style...

In Sides is my cup of tea..the rest i can take or
leave..mostly leave..but InSides is exceptionally
good..almost like another band..

Yes, the brown album is good, very good.
There's Impact, Lush's, Remind, Halcyon etc.

Like people were saying on the audiogalaxy board, Orbital is
the most orginal electronic act out there, and I defintely
agree with that.
