Does anyone know why japan always gets these extra tracks? I love the extra track on confield that comes with the japanese version. Aggrivating! |

im not 100% sure, but i think it's because the cd prices you buy in a store over there are incredibly high. they add extra tracks so that people will probably buy the insanely priced album instead of buying it on-line for a lot cheaper. i never remember in time that the japanese releases got extra tracks. i always think about it after ive bought the album over here. there are a couple of artists that id be willing to pay extra $ for a bonus tracks (ie autechre). anyone know of a site that shows the release dates of idm albums in japan? (sorry for changing the subject...) |

i didn't know confield has a bonus track. what's it called and what is the time length? japan gets bonus tracks to discourage piracy. bootlegging is huge throughout asia, and retail albums are extremely expensive in japan (more so than in america). one way consumers in japan avoid high prices is to order import albums, which ends up being cheaper (even with shipping). to discourage that practice, japanese releases are given exclusive bonus tracks and artwork. there you have it. now about that confield track? |

mcr quarter is in my top 3 favorite autechre tracks, man that track is wicked. Im hoping they start going in that direction a little more, funky as hell. |

K, here you go. the Japanese Double Figure bonus track is "Fell". it's 4:26, same as the MP3 that was up at the DF microsite, only CD quality sound. one of the greatest tracks from that session, and a staple classic in their live shows. can't believe it didn't get on the album. Ed said they didn't want to give the track up for Japan but its what had to happen, so they put up the MP3 on the site. |

SPD: thanks so much for a REAL answer to my question, i appreciate it :) actually i've been looking for 'fell' since DF came out; warp put it on a cd they gave out to people who preordered the album from warpmart. dunno if fell was bundled with any other tracks (anyone know?). |

you too can own your own cd-quality version of 'fell' by purchasing the actual cd! amazon had it for a mere us$38 last year...yep, quite a bargain i say. |
