Ohhhhh fuck... girls are so stupid. In general. I'm not
sexist... guys are equally stupid and pathetic, but in
different, equally pathetic ways.

But I've never actually met a girl with really good taste in
music, except over the fucking internet. They just don't
seem to exist... and the ones with good taste don't seem
nearly as passionate about it as I am, or GUYS that I know
are.

And looking through my CD (and MP3) collection, it's
99.99999999999999999% male dominated. Girls just... don't
have it, musically... or something... I can't figure it out.

you"....ahhh)...

all know what fun they can be..:)..

I agree with you Ophecks. I can't think of one good girl /
woman music artist. I will probably be booed for saying
this but Sarah McGlauclan (however you spell it) is good at
times...not all! but sometimes.

For electronica, I only know of Andrea Parker...and even
then its not too good...

Ok, so yes I agree even though I am an 19 yr old girl
myself, I do agree. Thats probably why all my friends are
guys cause girls are to narrow minded, dont like the same
music and music to my is EVERYTHING!!

BUT I have a question, where are the guys who like the same
music?? the guys here are ghetto, gay, or just not my type.

So it goes both ways.

my best female friend (ok, i don't have much ;)) listens to
aphex twin, smashing pumpkins...

i disagree about women musicians, there aren't nearly as
many talented females as males but their are some..

Siouxsie Sioux
Tori Amos
Bjork
Diamanda Galas
Kate Bush
Elizabeth Fraser
Lisa Gerrard

to name a few, you may not like all of these but you can't
say they all aren't talented artists.

And Sinead O'Connor...
And Liz Frazer of the Cocteaus...
And Tracey Thorn...

I could go on...there's load of great woman musicians...

Anyway, we're in a period of a lot of changes of the
balances between the sexes...there's still a lot of sexism
out there, even if it's more hidden that it once was, and
it's gonna take time before things get properly balanced...

I live with my good friend Eduard and his girlfriend
Kristen. Eduard is a producer and Kristen is a singer and
plays keyboard, all kinds of instrument through a sound
module, and our friend Katya has played violin for 18yrs and
she also plays keyboard. They have a group called The
Stove. Im so jealous because the girls i hang out with can
compose piano, basslines etc on the keyboard, there songs
are really good musically and they both love aphex twin.
Katya almost started crying over the piano tracks on druqks,
because some of them were so good. I have a sampler and a
drummachine i can program some good hip hop breaks but i
cant compose piano, basslines etc.

Wish i could find a girlfriend as talented and with such
good taste in music as them that but thats a different
story. At least the girls i chill with like good music.

Hope you meet some girls with good taste in music Aminal.

I'll try to post some of The Stoves songs so all of you can
hear them.

stuff, though..The girl i like really enjoyed a Mum' track i
showed her as well, i'm gonna show her flim and iz-us

I totally agree about girls music, my sister is 19 and still
listens to Britney, and all her favourite songs are TOP 40
stuff. But not all girls at my school are like that, one of
my friends (whose a girl) listens to punk, some listen to
metal, and so fourth.

I think it's all some strange feminin thing to be accepted.
They must think they'll be accepted and that guys will think
they look good if they're just like everyone else. Most
female hide there personality to be accepted. Then there
the few that don't give a damn. Eventually most of them
should grow up...But I still hate the music...

Ok, heres a little math for the girl thing, as far as shitty
music, it just happens.
Here it is:
Girls=money
Definately, girls take a lot of money,

And, as we all know:
Time=money,

Money=the root of all evil,

Therefore, we can conclude that:
Girls=evil.

landing on my toes (OW! damn near ruined the toes of my

Chemical Brothers!" Made block rockin beats really hard to
enjoy.

ACK

this thread is totally infuriating!!!

SO MANY GENERALIZATIONS!!!!!!

why are you guys looking for someone into the same damn
thing you are into?? you should find someone you like, and
EXPOSE them to interesting music.....no matter what it is.
hopefully they will like something.....maybe aphex, maybe
autechre, plaid, squarepusher....etc.

girls = money is SHIT.....men = just AS much money !!

you need to get into the PRESENT and see that women pay for
as much stuff as men, you guys are in some old fashioned
world. i don't expect my BF to pay for everything, how fair
is that ?!?! most REASONABLE girls feel the same way.

you guys need A LOT more experience with girls IMO, because
you base your beliefs not on REAL experiences but IDEAS of
what you think things are like.

my ADVICE......find someone you like, and introduce her/him
to interesting music....SEE what happens and go from there.

PS....one thing i WILL agree on, is like BASEBALL STATS (as
an example) most women are not interested in the intricacies
of ANY music.....you guys get into each and every note,
which is cool as hell and interesting to read about, but
what i think about when i listen to music....is either
lyrics which might be cool.....OR....how the music sounds,
how it makes me feel....it is VERY much an emotional
response UNLIKE some men!!

I approach music in a similar way to the way LeCoeur does.
though with me, it's a bit more about imagery and
aesethetics than it is about emotion (though I am definitely
quite emotional about music). I don't think that a
note for note interpretation of music is effective because
music is all about context.
