If I would have changed one day then I wouldn’t have the extreme lows and highs I’ve had in my life. I'm the only one who is gonna answer honestly but the thing I didn't expect at all was to just start hating almost everything after about 2016. "IDM" peaked in 2001-2002 with Confield/ Gantz Graf/ drukQs/ geogaddi. It was the best it ever was. That's fine, good shit was still coming out for the next 10 years, just not AS good. Then... nothing. Just solid but not groundbreaking Autechre, that's IT. TV peaked when The Wire, Sopranos, Dexter (s4 with john lithgow), Curb, LOST (fuck you it's a great show), Tim and Eric, and House MD were all firing. Since then it's just like Breaking Bad and Nu Twin Peaks. Movies peaked in like.. I dunno what year did No Country For Old Men come out? 2007? We had like, Zodiac, No Cunt, There Will Be Blood, The Departed, Synedoche NY, Inland Empire and a bunch of others within 1-2 years. A FEW good movies since. I genuinely loved Interstellar and Nightcrawler. Nothing like it was before though. Video games. well... I'm an old school Monkey Island boy, and I loved tf2, but they stayed pretty good. I've got like 4000+ hours in Path of Exile. Games get the pass. Books: George Martin began an epic 20 year stallout, Stephen King is nowhere near his peak Pet Sematary and Dark Tower hour, and Robert Jordan just up and died. Sanderson did an ok job finishing wheel of time tho. I'm waiting till he finishes his new series before I read it (stormlight archives i think its called). I just didn't know that all of the creative work that really excited me for so long would just STOP. Have you fucking seen the new Star Trek garbage? Picard? absolute worst piece of shit show I've ever seen. That aint Picard. TNG was like my favorite show. 20 years ago, I would have been SO excited for a LOTR show based on the simillarion and instead we got feminist propaganda with a bunch of black elves. women can't write anything, they just want to show how progressive they are.
