Your Xltronic "Listeners"

You made a spam and want to post it on xlt?! NICE! Congrats
on taking this step.

Here are your potential listeners:

belb- Belb is quiet, overall. Belb has a few health issues
and is probably going through some shit himself. Catch him
on the right day, and he will afford you some of his time.
He doesn't hesitate to be a bit critical, which I personally
like. Some of his notes have helped me become better (he
doesn't love rigidity). I think he's a generous spirit. He
spams occasionally, with very well produced megamixes that
have his specific personal touch. His mixes do not get a lot
of attention probably due to their length, which is a
shame.

wMw- Probably one of my highlights of 2024 was just seeing
him back. I'll be honest, I was worried about the guy.
Despite a fundamental paranoia, he IS kind, and will share a
bit of his time. wMw has seemingly developed a recent fear
of browser cookies (his tombstone will certainly read that
he died from clicking a bandcamp link). With this new phobic
wrinkle, he may not listen--- but his own spam is epic,
completely uncompromising and visionary. It also sometimes
sounds like it was (well) made on a literal toddler's
musical toy with only 2 built in sounds. In my like 22 years
here- probably no one on this whole site has left me more
comments. Maybe cx (aka coax?). I miss that guy too. Hope
you're doing well cx!

recycle- Nice guy. Weirdly, he can get a little miffed if
you spam too much. This is odd because several times a year
he'll post half a dozen topics in the span of 30 seconds
when drunk. Thad's genuinely friendly and positive and even
the people who pretend not to like him give his picture a
little kiss before bed.

epicmegatrax- would release a spam a day if he could, but
will never listen to anyone else's spam under any
circumstance. He's unwell, and giving him comments is like
feeding a stray dog who bites you and then pees on your
clean laundry. It will only backfire.

dariusgriffen- well, I checked out her site and found some
spam, genuinely thought her music was really neat. But she
doesn't post it as spam, and will never listen to yours
(even if you check out her site! not a viable path). Tit for
tat exchange NOT a hallmark of a communist, so expect
nothing but a disagreeable sort overall.

tony d- actually my favorite comment to get, legit funny
dude. And to think it's the REAL Tony Danza, here on xlt! He
will listen once in awhile, and his reactions are cheeky and
earnest. Problem is, he's usually busy writing his manifesto
on how to best apply chinese internet censorship to western
discourse.

kei9- cool guy, hard into existential philosophy, and makes
cool, unique music that he spams occasionally. Listens when
he has the time, though likely on the condition that you
don't admit you kinda like Javier Milei (sorry man, it's the
sideburns).

ijonspeches- he's just busy with and into his own stuff, but
overall very friendly. Your music better not have been
created with the aid of nuclear power! He won't click a spam
link without further incentive (I named 2 spam after him
which worked, so recommendation: name all your albums after
him for maximum ijon engagement).

marlowe- used to listen, used to post. Used to have a
personality of his own. Now just piously "calls out" people.
He's the embodiment of self-shame on xltronic, a fallen
angel. His music is fun.

big- doesn't listen much but supposedly has a large archive
of xlt spam. So maybe he just quietly downloads and moves on
to his nightly breadtube. Heavily compromised, but not quite
a marlowe tier fallen angel.

russelldust- guy has some real shit going on his life. He's
changed a lot over time time here, mellowed out a lot, in my
view. Will listen to a spam once in a blue moon, and is very
kind and encouraging.

mermaidman- listens to one spam a year, so you better sell
it well. Good comments and 2nd funniest xlt guy in my book.

hyperflake- like merm, will listen to one spam a year--
though I don't think you can sell it to him conventionally.
I think the best way to get through here is to pretend you
have a long lost aphex track (he'll blog about it), but it's
actually your own garbage and then you've just tricked the
man. Sad.

dog_belch- So hard to get a read on this guy. I've got a few
grinning ape spams downloaded, so I do have an idea what
he's into. What I make myself-- well it ain't really it.
Maybe though, on the right day, you might get a comment.
Expect nothing, but he's probably listening more than you
think. dog belch is in your walls.

Love this!
Do I really get mad if people spam to much?
Naw lol Spam is all we have left here
I’ll have to read this again (Fav+ remix)

Gives me a slightly new perspective on the Xlt Krew

^^, very true on many accounts
i think you undererstimate people listening by about 50%.
not every listen will give a comment,
personally, being mentionend in a track,
naturally makes me feel more obliged to do so.

do tune in, there's someone, again, accusing me of being
"unwell" or crazy or whatever, and... get a life, you piece
of shit. stop attacking me as insane -- it's incredibly
offensive, and it's not true at all. you don't know me,
you've never met me, stfu

epic: Yeah man I looked at your stream when it was live for
about 2 min and you were wearing like 5 wristwatches on one
arm. I'm sorry but more than one watch isn't a fashion
statement, it's a soul cry for help.

everyone else:
it may surprise you here... but I was actually somewhat
inebriated when I wrote this xlt stand-up routine! I woke up
and was like "oh god, what the fuck did I write." Sorry for
whatever I said!!!

Especially hyperflake, I definitely don't think you'd
mistake anyone's spam here for afx. I think you've got a
keen ear, spam resistant as it may be! <3 We can lure you to
the track with falsehoods but could never elicit the blog
post.

p.s tony danza I don't really eat doritos much, but in
genuine american fatass fashion-- I'll admit I'm a fan of
Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream. Favorite chips (crisps,
brits) by a wide margin. You can have some and we can
definitely discuss gamergate and the modern woman's touch in videogame writing.

This is all that remains of the internets, like the
asteroids floating around at the end of the neverending
story. It went from a cornucopia of memes and markets to
like 10 listeners, some/all of which are CIA AI bots.
Everything else is monopolized/consolidated and censored.
And it doesn't matter if the thing youre trying to advertise
is a snog.. or a peaceful trade offer, since peace is
illegal (since highly organized crime monopolized law), or a
pathetic ad for a product/service, as needed to pay feudal
lords since its illegal to have your own plot of land and
must pay the monopolists to stand anywhere. You can't even
staple a lost cat ad to a telephone pole, but donald trump
and geico get plastered over every monopolized medium. The
internet.. is.. donald trump and the geico gecko, arm in
arm. You could say the internet doesn't even exist anymore,
it already died. They used to say the internet was a mass
copying machine that routs around censorship. All used
markets are turned off, if you want an old videogame console
or something, you better emulate it. Hopefully the brick and
morter stores still sell some sort of non-brainchip
controller, and hopefully you have a high enough social
credit score, which is sort of just the income you're
allowed to have, to be allowed to buy anything.

...that's because i wore too many watches for your tastes?
or is it because a certain few people in these and nearby
circles have, like, made a hobby of going around and
announcing that i'm crazy? i suppose you'd mostly recall all
the times you've done it yourself, so might not grasp the
cumulative scale of it, or the impact it has on me.

people here give each other shit, i know how trolling goes,
etc. -- hell, i am rather trollish myself -- but there's
what i perceive to be a genuinely mean edge to it all from
some involved. it was over the line ages ago, and i said so
ages ago. it's worse now. i stopped posting, and you're
still hammering on me. what the fuck. you're terrible.

i've been through so much hell, recently. in parallel, i've
had certain family members trashing me to other family
members in order to, like... if they make me the bad guy,
they can get away with essentially abandoning me as i'm
losing all my shit, etc. because otherwise they'd be
socially ostracized by people we mutually knew. i pretty
much said "hullo" to a cousin i hadn't spoken with for ages,
and i got a large angry rant about how terrible i was and
never speak with "her" family again and

i feel like you may be on the same tip. you berated and
harassed me, along with darius, who told me to, like... go
down to a hospital and say some shit like "my bipolar
disorder malfunctioned" and, what? what will that
accomplish? i'm not bipolar

that, oh, you've really fucked up, but you'll save face if
you go around trying to paint me as crazy often enough that
others start to believe it, perhaps

i've just lost 90% of the shit i owned, i've had family
members turn on me, now i feel like i'm being ostracized
from a community that used to be a haven to me. then when i
hop onto discord and try to sell off some gear because it's
a bit urgent [my servers are currently suspended; my phone
is next] i am immediately greeted by "lol he's crazy"

...and all i did was post a pretty succinct for-sale
message, after not having used discord for ages, yo. it's
incredibly fucked up.

the watches.

freestyle shark. i got a shark mini for my birthday when i
was five and it was THE COOLEST THING EVER to me at that
age; in the late 90s digital watches were still kinda
future-ish. that will always live on in me; they still make
me giddy like a child. every time i look[ed] down at my
wrist -- even now -- it's like OH FUCK YES and immediately
cheers me up. before my life melted down, i began collecting
them. once shit melted down, well, i needed extra cheering
up? that's when i started to wear more than one. and perhaps
a bunch of gypsy bracelets. next, i'm having fun being gaudy
for videos [escapism; procrastination to avoid dealing with
the reality of my life getting destroyed] and... why yes, i
know how tacky it is to go that far

new years, i show one on my wrist to a friend of a friend at
some bar. he was like, "you, you're coming with me" and he
grabs my wrist and begins dragging me as a teacher would a
naughty child. i'm thinking: wut? where are we going?

we arrive at his wife. oh, his wife got him one for
christmas. i comment, "oh yeah, i collect them" and pull up
my sleeves to reveal a second on that wrist and a third on
my other. you should have seen his face, lol. then i said,
"i have that same one, actually" -- pity i didn't wear it
that night.

point being -- i actually have pretty good taste. in a
situation that was a normal human social gathering [and not
a goofball livestream to escape the sheer terror i felt] the
fact that i was wearing three was not even visible to anyone
until i felt like showing them off. he didn't even notice
the first one until it was relevant to the conversation we
were having, and i pointed it out

if anything, my long pages of rambling about neurology were,
like... an escape. me hiding from the reality of the
situation. even when things are at the worst it's effortless
for me to get lost in wikipedia for hours. i come out of
loads of ideas to write up.... writing them out slows me
down enough that i begin to have related ideas... which then
gives me more to write up... and so on. people play video
games for fourteen hours straight to escape a bad marriage
or a dire health diagnosis, what makes my shit any
different? except i come out with ideas written up with a
flourish, instead of dumbass virtual trophies for collecting
all 100 baubles in a video game?

i spent many hours writing when i should have been working
on my shit. i've spent too many hours writing when i perhaps
should have been working -- and i also suppose i'm simply
posting it in the wrong place. time to change all that

i built a pretty dope tech stack for all those vids, i feel.
i'd scripted things to the point where i could simply deploy
one of 4-5 raspberry pi's anywhere in the house i felt like

and it'd all feed into OBS in the attic. where i had my
trusty viewcast osprey 460e [4x composite framegrabber]
pumping out creamy analog imagery from very nice "vintage"
ccd cameras. with nice lenses

being ffmpeg-crunched on a dedicated capture box because....
gosh, i learned not to do UDP multicast very fast, then i
was still saturating the LAN to shit and ok, let's learn
about RTP and have a proper think about our topology and...

...yes, that was pretty much me procrastinating too. except
worse, because that's the sort of thing i typically do for a
living and i kind of had an excuse for myself. to spend
hours on wikipedia. reorganize my LAN... start scripting
stuff so the raspberry pi's become fungible and i can plug
as many as i like in and i don't have to configure anything
and now it scales and i could deploy it like lightning out
of the back of a truck and

it's a great excuse to spend hours reading about shit like
RTP on wikipedia!!!12

i didn't say i thought everyone was in that boat! i think
thad is just tagging along; he's saying it because other
people are saying it

theocide [it had to be theocide, he's the only one who would
call me a nigger and then invite me to the bdb discord]

...theocide heard it from wherever and he's still raw i
refuse to fall in line with his shitlord empire, and he
actually kind of misses me, but he lacks the emotional
vocabulary to express this in a normal human way.

that's all kind of incidental -- like, that wouldn't have
happened if it weren't for the character assassination
coming out of here. then, no, it's not everyone -- it's the
few people who got really fucking creepy and it felt like
they were trying to gaslight me into believing i was broken.
saying things like "c'mon, join the ranks of the crippled"

for that, i'm mostly looking at mermaidman, wolfslice, and
dariusgriffin. you, roger? not sure. that means you probably
know something more than thad. but perhaps not -- hijack the
narrative, yes, that's top notch cherry-picking; you're a
talented troll and that's why i'm not sure
