i don't think anyone gets to have a problem with anyone being gay or transsexual it's not like they asked anyone's opinion if they are ok with it but the ppl asking to be referred to as a plural pronoun is just funny and ridiculous imho and probably a very small percentage of the lgbt community |

I've spent a good amount of time making fun and/or being frustrated by plurals, systems, xenogenders, grey-aroaces and whatever the fuck but, 1) They're mostly just teenagers being annoying on the internet, and instead of being really into BBC Sherlock Holmes and writing fanfics about it they got really into gender and wrote fanfics about it. 2) Some of the rhetoric they produce is in itself homophobic, especially since many of these kids are not meaningfully LGBT, but they are mostly irrelevant and have no responsibility for the resurgence of homophobia. It's a bad-faith framing that's very compatible with the far-right's rhetoric (the reasonable centrist homosexual who worries about immigration vs. the unhinged queer bluehair palestine theythem). 3) This shit is so 2015 anyway, kids have moved on from the tumblr nonsense and at this point it's only the homophobes propping its corpse up. |

"Resurgence of homophobia" is also highly debatable of course. In a lot of ways things are a lot better than in the 00s. The issues just have become more visible and now everyone feels the need to share their opinion on trannies every five minutes. |

It's not allowed in 2024. There will be no method actors playing trans for the foreseeable future. I hate to admit it, but a bit of conservative pushback is required for that to be the case again. It's funny because I truly thinking shedding your old persona and becoming the person you want to be a joyous thing.
