Then as I've listened to more and more music like this; now rinsing some tracks on repeat, that I couldn't have tolerated as little as two years ago. However, this is also the sort of techno that makes me say: "I'm not sure I'll be at this level ever? That, oh, it could work in clubs... but, sitting here listening to it -- or trying to -- as I'm writing all this nonsense, it's like "ohhh hey that's actually goo-" and then, no, nevermind, you've cut out all the cool stuff and it's just a rabbit pooping out hardcore kicks for a minute straight with NO MELODY AT ALL. but some of it is good too, and it's definitely not boring the opening track, "idEAL coNtroL" did come across quite like some S&M tip -- the song itself, not the track name -- then there's one named "Crawl swine" ...then, no, wait stop -- am i judging the whole album on my impression of the first track? because this is a compilation album; all different artists. so, the flipside: if you make music like this... it's actually pretty normal to make music that twists the phrase "You're a fucking bitch" around in the fruity slicer? so i am searching on slsk for some hardcore chiptune artist i want more of and, ok, here then i'm just browsing their files after, and they have, literally HUNDREDS OF ALBUMS SHARED but the ONLY ONES i recognize are: dig your own hole, the fat of the land, and madvilliany, and some soundtracks the rest is like... i've just downloaded "Denzel Curry" "PLASTIC WHATEVER" "So Many Materials" "NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE" "Coin Locker Baby" and i could keep going but kicking myself off there it's just a vast ocean, this stuff. and i know i'm in the right place because the only things i recognize are, like, two of my favorite albums and one i've heard good things about. the rest is off the charts batshit. i love it |
