no one ever told me shit, but keen solid feel that
registrations were shut off because who's going to manage
the ton of lol dupe registrations? that the decision was
made with a feel of, like, "i don't have time for this, but
it's too cruel to pull the board, so i'll just shut
registration off and it'll peter out" and instead it didn't,
it became a beautiful thing, the forum at the end of the
internet.

w/rt registrations, in all seriousness, i respect leaving it
alone and closed. i am fine with this. a siphon has been
started and will continue without additional sucking.

if it were to open... well, i really wouldn't want the
floodgates to open. more something like, we all get a
credit, and if someone manages to get themselves three
credits in their favor they can have a new account.

that, actually, aside from some studied approach like that,
i am in favor of leaving registration off.

oh, who cares right?

but i regard this board, this situation, as stunningly
unique and fiendishly impossible to duplicate. riced out
yugo is about twenty years old too. but this place, so many
accounts, so many people, over the years. psychedelia a
crucial element. without that, probably wouldn't be enough
cohesion for the momentum we've here.

it's somewhere between a message board and a time capsule.
it's not totally a time capsule, because some of us are
still in here, talking about 2023. but it is a time capsule,
because membership is sealed, it's a structure of personal
relationships sealed in lucite

hey remember when you could post in threads on here before
they even existed and if someone went and created the
thread, your comment would be placed at the top even before
theirs?

I admire the design of the site and it doesn't look remotely
as dated as most sites would/do that were launched at the
same time.
