Shitload of NEW APHEX TRACKS!!!!!

Hi all,

I discovered a shitload of new Aphex Twin tracks under
various aliases!
In total I think probably close to 300 tracks.
Extremely extremely lush godlike tracks among them!

Richard D James = Loneist, MintSauceMilitia, Beathaven, Ragi
Arinbjornsson.

https://loneist.bandcamp.com/

https://midievil-records.bandcamp.com/

There are Bandcamp pages, Soundcloud pages, Youtube pages
etc. Even a related website http://earboners.com/ and a user
account 'Flacid' on WATMM.

I have no official confirmation nor any insider info.
I happened to stumble upon the first of this music
(MintSauceMilitia which was then under the name Alice
Piasenn) years ago on Soundcloud after following some
breadcrumbs / comments made by a known Aphex Twin soundcloud
page. This music was later removed and I recently found it
back online on Bandcamp with much more tracks and also the
Loneist tracks (one of the older Alice Piasenn tracks was
now suddenly a Loneist track).
Shortly after this after following yet more breadcrumbs I
found the Beathaven Soundcloud account, liked the music and
stumbled upon Midievil-Records Bandcamp. And it was clear to
me this is also Richard's doing. First by the music itself
and later also by many other hints (names, images, location,
etc).
It seems many more Rephlex / Warp artists are on the
Midievil IDM compilation btw, and also on some of the
releases (not sure who is who).

Sharing this because I think some other people will be as
happy as I am discovering this music. Some of it may be his
best releases ever for me personally. Having the time of my
life :)

Enjoy!

Here a few convincing tracks:

MintSauceMilitia:
MSM - 7 zith chunk 1a 17-16 - ld
MSM - 50-GR62 (Time shelter for M) [BasementMix]

Loneist:
Loneist - Alice
Loneist - Night Drive

Beathaven:
Beathaven - Bones
Beathaven - Plopz
Beathaven - The Caretakers House
Beathaven - Elm Grove
Beathaven - Tilted

SECRET REPHLEX ALBUM:
Ragi Arinbjornsson - JoYRIde

And so much more gold amongst the other tracks. It's a dream
come true.
User "Flacid" (I think RDJ) has posted to describe some of
these tracks as mere quick "jams". Read a similar comment by
MintSauceMilitia.
Well I can't be 100% sure all those aliases are 100% Richard
or perhaps collaborations. But it's got his sonic signature
all over it unlike anything I've ever heard before :)

i remember when i thought that steinvord was squarepusher,
and it was like: "oh my god, he's off the rails on drugs,
this is amazing"

and then it was actually dave monolith off the rails on
drugs

i haven't even dug into this, but -- you're aware someone
like me might just steal all his words and themes to...
hell, making fake afx was a small meme back on myspace

maybe i'll just read it as "this is good have a listen" and
we'll see about the rest

Oh that last link should have been:
Ragi Arinbjornsson - JoYRIde

offline mdv from Zwolle (Netherlands, The) on 2023-05-01 06:20 [#02627042]

Yes I'm aware someone might steal all his words and themes.
Plenty of attempts have been made and some good ones among
them.
But none this damn good. It's innovative. A lot of it I like
MORE than the old tracks :)
Yes, many of the tracks are "jams". But nobody else could
possibly jam like this.
I've convinced myself. Nobody else told me this was all
Aphex, and hell there isn't even a strong link between the
Loneist/MSM and Beathaven (only a track on the IDM
compilation on Midievil records which is called "Alice's
house"). But I've got a good set of ears and they tell me
this is the real deal.

Btw, I did send a message to Beathaven stating that I knew
the above and got a friendly reply back neither denying nor
confirming he's indeed RDJ and no objection to me spreading
the word. (hell that may be the only thing that doesn't
scream Aphex and Aphex would have surely denied it all
lol)

But just listen to the example tracks I posted above and
tell me you're not instantly convinced ;)

LAZY_TITLE

track names, hmm. "Mum, I kicked the bucket" ok could be
him. Farty Mcbuttchungles? no, minus heuristic points, that
sounds far too american for him.

regretamin hole? lol. alright, sure, let's try that one ~

i'm not sure this is afx. i mean, not the syro afx, anyways.
because this is like someone ground out a crappy copy of
dodeccaheedron on their modular. that first off, i don't
ever say, "oh this is a modular jam" as soon as the track
starts. then yeah as it progresses drop in those detuned
floaties and yeah i dunno. maybe it's a goof-off side
project but i don't see him... no, he does reverb better

(In My Cunting Opinion)

offline EpicMegatrax from Greatest Hits on 2023-05-01 06:29 [#02627046]

it does get me thinking about how i could sit down, make a
list of some of his best things, then put them all into a
stew and release it as an alias. and either people would
think i was teh afx, or i would get away with it. but that
job pays shit; nah

It's just jams. Not elaborate edited tracks.
You try thinking up about 300 titles for jams like this ;)

I don't know if its afx or not-- or if only some of it is,
or whatever,

but I liked everything you just linked a whole lot! These
are more than "passable fakes," there is genuine nuance.
will definitely be listening to this some more!

thx for the investigative journalism. we heard it here first
on xltronic from mdv. WATMM sleuths will try to harvest your
efforts in the near future, but the 6 of us still on zilty
will always know the truth.

And for the Syro / The Tuss afx have a listen to
MintSauceMilitia.
That one says "demo's & outtakes" which makes me think there
may be an album / EP coming out sometime in the future with
tracks in that direction.
Some of these tracks also seem like more than a quick jam to
me.

thankfully the only known cure for a broken heart is several
hours of dubious "unheard aphex tracks," so we can work
through this betrayal.

alright. so i went at this like a record store where i'm
just letting my dick guide me to The One. and,,,
flipflipFlip beathaven, Teh End. and then i'm off squinting
at the track names and rating them like a human spam filter
as to whether his gingerness would have... that name.

also that album cover.

then "regretamin hole" was a genuine lol of a title, and
reasonable plausable, so that's where i put a nickel in and
had a listen. and i'll be more detailed

1) my first thot, immediately, no hesitate, "this is a
modular jam" and... can't recall having that thot with afx
much
2) overall this is a really crappy rip of dodeccaheedron. or
something classics-era. but it's a hell of a pull given i
haven't listened to that track in ages until just now,
and... yeah, sounds like it, yeah
3) i didn't mention it earlier but there are some obviously
fumbled fades, and... again, can't recall afx much... you
should maybe be accusing me of having made this, perhaps?
4) listen to the reverb in dodeccawahoo and then go listen
to regretamin hole once it gets into the detuned
dissociative floaties, then go back and listen to both
tracks before that, and, how long ago did afx make that,
even if he's fucking around his reverb would be better and
5) it collapses on a second play and yeah these are just
some drums on a modular he has noah's arc of synth of up
there

so
1) is this aphex making something deliberately poop
2) is this someone like deadmau5 trying to see how much
money he can make out of fooling afx phanz
3) is this some broke watmm person trying to eke out a ramen
budget [think i mentioned this job pays shit?]
4) is this some sort of rorschach fishtank bullshit like the
transgender chinese hacker president in mr. robot
5) how is mdv mixed up in all this

but i did just listen to one track.

offline mdv from Zwolle (Netherlands, The) on 2023-05-01 07:51 [#02627061]
Points: 167 Status: Regular

Oh me I'm totally not mixed up in any of this.
mdv stands for Marcel de Velde, feel free to google me.
I just like music and happened to come across these tracks
as I wrote in my first post.
Listen to the tracks I linked to in my second post.
And they're just jams. Richard clearly likes to try many
different setups, he has so many sounds. Some of the
Beathaven tracks are made on for instance a single Elektron
Analog Rytm. Hell I don't see anybody else puling such
tracks out of that.
Some of them are jams when he's perhaps traveling, chilling
on the couch, taking a shit, idunno that's what I imagine.
Still best music out there for me (sure not every track,
sometimes a hard turd may fudge a fade I forgive him).
And listen to MinSauceMilitia for instance. That one's the
most instant convincing one perhaps. And then you'll realize
MintSauceMilitia is the same artist as Loneist, just
approaching things a bit differenltly, takes some getting
used to.
And then make a selection of your favorite rave tracks from
Beathaven and realize only Aphex will make you rave like
this like a madman.
That's sort of how it went for me at least..

Btw for even more good music. I also found "Pure Land
Infinity Reservoir" on the Midievil Records IDM
compilation:
PLIR - Woodville Inn
Really enjoying his music as well. And while clearly partly
inspired by Aphex I don't think it's him ;)
PLIR - Gestalt Window
And on SoundCloud:
PLIR - Heretic (sounding SAW II inspired)
PLIR - Ataraxia (BOC vibe in the distance, liking it more
than the last few BOC releases)

i just want him to make drukQs again.

i've said the same thing for ages. some of the breaks on
syro and on, alright, we're close. the breaks creeping back
up from tuss lows... and i've said it for ages. but. i'll
just crib from my own previous ramble:

the chemicals comment, it's like -- no, we're not
addicts, neither of us, but fuck -- i have to finish this
shit. and then obsession takes over

and so when i say i forgive him: i'd never really thought
about it before, but i see this same, like.. desperation...
in drukqs. and if going back there might kill you, then
don't. i think we'd rather have rdj around instead of 2/3 of
drukqs 2.0

LAZY_TITLE

a longwinded way of saying "he's not in his 30s anymore if
he starts taking that much acid and speed again it'd
probably end him" and i get the impression he darn near
killed himself for drukqs, that it was exhausting. i imagine
even some post-partum depression after release. like: fuck,
it's all downhill from here, innit

so another? not sure it's on the cards. but that's ok

does this still work? if so, thank kim dotcom

this is my fake autechre exai leak from... whenever it came
out. that i was actually very organized about this. i sat
down with the track listing and sliced it up into a plan and
cranked it out in a very orderly manner in an afternoon. but
this also involved, like... i keep waiting for someone to
ask: "is that you slamming yourself in the face for two
minutes?" after listening to veko slap. that i get a bit
eric andre about this shit -- anything for the track. i'd
punch myself in the face if i felt it were the only way i
could get the right sound. in that sense, i was regretting
my plan for the song after about 45 seconds, but i soldiered
on.

and i'm not hearing any of this fake afx step up like that
yet

Look at the image of the MintSauceMilitia release. Clearly
Analord & The Tuss hint with the sheep.
MintSauceMilitia sheep image

And listen to a track like this: MintSauceMilitia - 06-bamba clat cv mod (Dutty TX) ...
That's so clearly next level The Tuss. How could it be

track like that: not terrible on the ear, but really quite
forgettable. pretty much any of the tuss tracks more lush +
interesting. i'm not sean booth. i can't hear DAT speed. but
to my less refined ears, it's like... these drum sounds
aren't horrid but his would be better. this doesn't sound
all custom-scale like he does. but mostly it's just alright
and doesn't go anywhere

doesn't mean it's not him trying not to sound like him. but
play this next to, like, synthacon 9, and... neh.

i have other vague thoughts. like, after a sleep:
"regretamin hole" feels like a joke from someone ten or
fifteen years younger. but i can't really argue that
coherently; just a feeling

Ah I have the opposite opinion.
I'm liking many of these tracks more than official Aphex

Hell I even like the more raw nature of them instead of
edited into information overload and mastered into

They're creative, fun, inspired, musical, tasteful and
lush.
I think many of them are genius.
This certainly isn't Richard "dropping a clanger" to me,
it's a one of a kind master at work having fun, jamming,

he's been pretty honest about blasting his fap tracks onto

i never ran it down myself, but if monolith weren't, like,

"loneist" as a name feels more like a mean pun tbh

same goes for the mint sauce.

if i could ask him something, it'd only be the most
important questions, and it wouldn't be anything to do with
this. that i don't think anyone has ever asked him what his
favorite sound is

personally, mine is... i actually need to pin this down.
it's a rocket thing firing out of a launcher and it somehow
bridges the gap to a sort of screaming synth noise, like an
lfo modifying pitch speed rapidly swept up... original quake
would do a close approximation of it sometimes. when things
get stuck in corners in that game... has anyone turned that
into a plugin?

jodey kendrick, still no idea. that's probably just some
random person and not afx either. the production is on par
but then you're sitting in the living room while jodey is
off making tea and you realize it's a very similar living
room but the details are incredibly different, and, sorry,
best analogy i have -- this living room is a product of a
distinct mind that is not afx

i guess i could search on dogpile or altavista

very intldrable ~ all music is the distinct product of
countless personal choices [even if those choices are
mechanically carried over via how someone was taught]. was
in a phase where i would repeatedly process a segment of
audio over and over; strange things started to happen.
singing voices literally arose out of the muck, stuff like
that. and after a think, the answer was: i am iteratively
amplifying something, and that something is myself. it works
especially well when you can use hardware like driving a
car; so automatic that your mind is free to wander. having
that moment where you realize you've just recorded the last
two minutes of a track while thinking about what you want
for lunch

but once you get that deep in. there's enough of you to
recognize. it can go quite odd/awkward, if... well, trent
reznor writes up his moody diary entries into nine inch
nails songs; guy got me through high school. that i've spent
so much time inside his sonic creations, coupled with
[in]direct lyrics that are very personal, and it's kind of
like... hey, trent old pal. when i open up a new NIN album.
how are you today? and he screams fuck in my ear a bit

but he doesn't know me -- i don't think he does, anyways.

aphex is a little more nebulous. but even if the exact
nature of the thoughts feel guarded i can feel moods through
there in a certain way

then i have this whole thing with words where i can tell
50yo brit is unlikely to name a track "regretamin hole" and
even if he did, ~and~ decided it should be a crap rip
of dodeccahedron, that, sorry, no, a rabbit can't change its
ears; for him to make regretamin hole would be on the level
of me declaring my left arm is invalid.

i wonder if sean booth ever thinks about any of this.

tldr ~ afx did not make regretamin hole. even as a joke. i
say this like samuel alito recently got up and said, "i have
a pretty good idea who the leaker is. not enough to name a
name, but a pretty damn good idea"

i was just thinking: jodey kendrick feels so much like
bernard fevre. particularly the latter's strange world
album. they are totally separate people, 40 years apart in
age, but they'd probably be two peas in a pod

that's a fun idea. i'd never thought to compare people's...
fuck, no, not aura. that word is a giant electromagnet for
poor logic

Hyperflake, you do not come across as a prick :)

Btw, Beathaven agrees with you. He just updated
Midievil-Records subtext to "Don't even sound like him." lol

As for the Ragi Arinbjornsson tracks. This is a new
Universal Indicator!
It's even called "SECRET REPHLEX ALBUM".
And to me it has some of the best Universal Indicator tracks
to date.

Ragi Arinbjornsson - SECRET REPHLEX ALBUM

Oh btw, it's all "name your price", so that's free if you
put in '0'.
