in the "too old; didn't read" compartment, look up the
formation of rock band "cream"

cream dream, right, warp records signing james ford for...
pink droid? you're an electronic music label, and listen to
what james ford has done, and this is what you're investing
in? but perhaps it's simply what ford wants to do at the
moment and he was simply shopping for someone who'd have it
and in that case, shelf my whole complaint; god bless.

but yeah, i thought i'd make a new thread for this:

i saw [squarepusher] in boston for ufabulum, and, you
could barely see him. but brilliant patterns of flashing
lights. i saw autechre either same place or just down the
street years back, and they just... you know, pushed
buttons. that squarepusher had all these anal-retentive
lite-brite patterns going on and frankly, autechre, taking
fucking note, that was way more interesting, really

opening up for autechre was masonix and he's snuggling an
oboe and a juggalo and a saxaphone and i remember feeling:
if he just had someone backing him up this could kill it,
but instead this is just kind of frustrating, i can feel him
being frustrated

and let's scramble all this. autechre is on some drum
machines. squarepusher has spent god-level computation time
programming grids of lights but he's banned from touching
them for the show itself. masonix does whatever he
likes.squarepusher has to play bass. autechre has to figure
it out. the biggest challenge for squarepusher, if i am
getting this at all correct, will be that his preprogrammed
lights are wrong for xyz improvisation. after a few rounds
of this, slap him, play back a recording, and show how it
actually
worked out far better than he could ever see from where he
was sitting. relax man

and again. maybe i have it all wrong. who knows

but, dear warp records: this is just a helpful thot. masonix
going off in direction(s), squarepusher's preprogrammed
lights not quite fitting, him technically trying to keep up
on bass w/ direction(s), then autechre with some elektron
machines doing their best to augment the madness

[and... is any of that going to happen? no? well how 'bout
this: if you want me on this, i'm on a mixer with a bunch of
boss delay pedals and an arturia microfreak]

but probably just bin the details; the supergroup idea. i
have to say. could work

oh, hell. that if james ford is sick of doing electronic. he
wants to do rock jam bands again. i can think of who it
might be good to get him in a room with, one tom jenkinson

larger context the missing reading. that is, if, like --
you've the patience to acquire the data for, "that was long,
but i think i understand his arc of thinking now" and i
figured i'd offer it while emphasizing it's not required for
my point in #02626256 -- great post #! -- to stand
