He was posting to many long lenthy posts on Xlt. He fell up;
yes up the stairs and broke his knee and ankle. If you look
at his electronical establishment on the left of his leg.
You will see that some some those boxes also have damage to
them. Mr. EpicMegatrax was looking and thinking I’d those
as he posted multiple multiple multiple multiple long
lenthey posts in other people threads that have absolutely
nothing to todo with the thread topic.

Fall up stairs and get crutches!

Hope you are okay Epic, if you need someone to make you soup
and crackers or help you to the second floor to use the
toilet. Let me know I’ll rush over and help ya bud!

Did you get stitches or just cool crutches?

unclear. i was on hold -- ironically, with another health
care facility -- and i was kind of like fdghjkfgh u fuckin'
sonofa and whipping around a bit. on hold, mind you, not to
anyone.

...and something went pop. i audibly heard it. didn't kick
anything, didn't stomp down hard. i think it's probably
because i fell on the ice a few weeks back; i got that area
a bit and it was probably on the edge for a while

i'm going to make a terrible old person. i'm a big charging
oaf and patience is not my strong suit. i just randomly cut
up my hands, bruise my shins in haste. my grandfather went
out because he felt funny changing a tire and then promptly
climbed up four flights of stairs to the apartment rather
than, like, rest or ask for help. he also threw a flowerpot
at the building super from the fourth floor window because
the hot water was out

on that note. i put off going to the ER for almost two full
days. because, oh, this is some wicked dank shit but
oh the mix, no, no, it has more, it can be more

...and it was worth it, just irritated i couldn't hold out
longer. because it still had more

so ~ SASS ~ i do work hard for this. but it still
be more

Did you get stitches or just cool crutches?

i got crutches and an air cast, as pictured.

in these, actually something to at least cheer me up a bit:

1) i think the air cast is pretty dope. it a pump-pump
mechanism like the 90's fad shoes. once i got home and did
up my own rigging it felt ten times better. i appreciate the
granularity, and, actually, the style

2) crutches, never really used them, but i actually find
these fun. i will be good as shit at crutches by the end of
the six weeks. i will be able to dance with them

crutches, tldr ~

crutches, never really used them, but i lie and say i have,
and yes they're instructing me anyways. two successful
crutchings, then a third and then there's stern admonishment
"NEVER GO BACKWARDS"

and perhaps there's something deep in that -- don't regress,
etc.

"sorry, toots," i thot to myself, "sometimes you just have
to." namely, if i'd gone anywhere but forward, it was either
into a sliding door or some esoteric hospital shit with lots
of tangly wires

yanking all the plugs out of the wall}])

So you get time and days off work or are you expected to go
back to the machine and keep grinding?

If your a professional touring musician, you shouldn’t
cancel your tour but work this into your act!

it's weird cause sometimes anomalies like foot pain, or
other things out of your control in your setting can really
contribute to the creative process. Not saying it's always
for the best or anything, but it can change your mood or
take you out of your specific neural grooves to try
something new.

Doubt I'd try to make a tune with a migraine or testicular
torsion or anything though, it's gotta be on the bearable
spectrum.

suitably, the board just ate a TLDR post that included: the
studio is on the third floor, i think might install renoise
on my office computer

(hence pushing myself on getting that track as far as i
could, back of my mind i knew it might be a few weeks and
that's a lot of stairs

[tldr stairs: i have to sit down and lift myself up with my
arms one stair at a time. and carry my crutches. before the
crutches i just crawled. sometimes i still do; it can be
more convenient in short bursts])

only if i allow myself to start geeking out about my gear.
carrying a backpack full of essentials has already blossomed
into: this isn't quite cutting it, i need my bandolier and i
can strap this old camera case to a belt and it'd hold a
water bottle and...

yeah, no, i can stop myself sometimes

tldr ~ floor lyfe

it's funny, this reminds me of some trip i had in 2013 where
i decided to just go everywhere in the house without
standing for a while. it was because i spent some time
crawling about the floor for quasi-legitimate reasons --
re-cabling stuff -- and i thought: it's so curious how the
world has such a different feel if you commit to floor lyfe
properly.

so i decided to just keep that up for a few hours. mostly
just because it was interesting, but also because it
required some ingenuity; physical effort. a mild challenge.
however, i'm not insane; if the house had caught on fire i'd
have given that up immediately and gotten myself to safety.

afterwards, i felt like i'd done a reasonably thorough study
of the dynamics of floor lyfe, and didn't ever really bother
again, except in small pockets, like building stuff in the
workshop

but last couple days have really sent me back to that one

Wel I like yer music and you a lot
I’m glad Xlt is full of vibrancy and energy

Just make lots of musics and don’t dance I. The steps and
and break another foot or leg or arm or brain

offline EpicMegatrax from Greatest Hits on 2023-03-06 02:48 [#02625670]

dancing, hmm. do i dance?

spent almost ten years moving about to music. perhaps with
my eyes closed, even, so i can focus on, i dunno, kinetic
mandalas.

however, not really paying attention to what i look like.
started to a little, and it's a pretty even split between
"wow some of this looks pretty dorky" and "wow that's
actually pretty good" -- reviews from some company party did
sort of mirror this. torn between sniggering and awe

end of the day, to do musics, you have to move somehow,
right? unless you have some beta elon musk neuralink
interface

so simply practice moving to music, is my advice. it'll lead
to better music. it's a different thing than learning
"moves" for parties

tldr ~ i'll get this point across one of these days. how
many times have i tried?

the thread where i am trying to feel my way down from the
attic to the basement along with the chimney, eyes closed,
in the dark, for two hours. body put to sleep meditatively,
focusing on... maintaining a gentle, steady pressure on the
snake against surfaces, so as to not lose my state stack.
working down... failing. failing again. but, gradually,
building up a mental map of the unknown obstacles alongside
the chimney stack in my head.

through sustained, focused effort, i have built up enough
context data for my body map -- my proprioceptive map -- to
connect to it in a functional way. in layman's terms, it has
become an extension of my body.

so now i have my carved little acid nook where... i'm off
doing a track, and a thought fires off, "i need to wind out
the decay on the 303 here" and my body sorts it out as my
other hand is carrying out some previous thought and before
either are finished i'm thinking about what next

and i tell you, i will be good as shit at crutches in six
weeks. so long as i don't get cocky and go too fast. to wit,
i dipped a toe in the water of crutches on stairs; promptly
decided that was at the very least intermediate, probably
advanced. and not the first night

if you get into biking hard on music you're already doing it
with your bike, most likely, the secret is to try and get a
little more general about it.

[maybe that makes the point better? maybe? oh well i'm happy
with my track(s)]

How’s the foot
You running marathons yet?

Do you like afx?

offline EpicMegatrax from Greatest Hits on 2023-03-07 03:24 [#02625681]
Points: 25264 Status: Regular

the foot is so much better after a day and a half with the
air cast. i hope someone made a lot of money from patents
off of this; the design is beautiful.

not running marathons; my cardio is sitting down and lifting
myself up one stair at a time. wearing cans and starting to
feel comfy enough to genuinely dick about with the crutches,
was practicing fumbling and recovering etc

i have a lot of tldr thots about crutches on stairs. today i
went up two (2) stairs to see how it'd go, and whoa, weird.
let's stop and analyze the data. i've analyzed it, but tldr

do i like afx? i've never met him; can't say. his music is
quite good. i first heard his music when someone uploaded
isopropanol to my ratio ftp server in 2000. i'm not sure he
was being serious when he said he used a rave-o-lotion 909
in an interview. and vintage behringer guitar pedals

my body wants to tear down the street at a full run, but my
foot is broken. i can see my leg(s) losing tone. my arms are
getting interesting at least

but mostly, this is dhfgkjdf it takes so long to do
anything. i haven't showered in days because it's dangerous.
i have a bathtub but i have to clean it. i have to plan
trips downstairs. if i wake up really having to pee, it
takes me five minutes to get to the toilet

it's feeling better already, though, i can put a little
weight on it to at least balance myself sometimes

on the flipside, parts of my other leg are complaining, and
i was having fun with the crutches yesterday, but i need to
develop conditioning before i can even go full bore on
everything being annoying and taking forever

my left foot is broken. my ankle is fine. i smell

the one thing that's utterly doing my head in is the
crutches repeatedly falling over and it a) scares the
crap out of me b) does random damage to a property i am
renting c) dkfghbjfgkh you fucking piece of shit
cunt

i'm going to sort out some straps so i can hook them to
things more easily.

on the plus side -- lewis wasn't talking to me for a bit
again, but, strangely, he just started texting me again and
he's broken his pinky.

i essentially broke... not my pinky toe, but the foot
equivalent of what connects your pinky to your wrist,
through the back of your hand etc.

offline EpicMegatrax from Greatest Hits on 2023-03-08 09:34 [#02625730]

i mean, it's not plus side that lewis broke his pinky;
merely that it showed up again. but when i say we have kind
of a dr. gonzo and raoul duke thing going on, he's just
broken his pinky as i've broken my pinky toe and this is
when he decides to start texting again.

i finally get up to the second floor, sitting and lifting
myself repeatedly, and as i stand up on one leg to switch to
crutches, my water bottle falls out of the holder and goes
BANG, CLONG, SLAM, denting things, now it's back downstairs

this is about where i'm ready to fucking stab someone

You don’t really need to stab someone or hurt someone else
or yourself more, srry. It’s okay hou haven’t bathed in
days. It’s not like your getting a huge sweat or stank
being around the house. I’m guessing you can work from
home or are taking a bit of time off?
Just shower or. Bath here in the next few days when you can
safely do it. It may hurt to move and such so be safe my
Friend.

If it’s just your pinky toe, I take it there’s no cast
or splint? Just be careful and keep the area clean and make
sure infection doesn’t get in. Hell if there’s no cast
just dip that bad boy into the tub

While listening to Fatboy Slim!

you like your bike, right? imagine breaking your foot and
being banned from bike for six weeks?

that i have gone from an average of four miles walkies, hour

am i stab because of withdrawal from exercise, or because

it is actually driving me to... this isn't what i'd
recommend most people do:

first time i've taken the crutches outdoors: today. i did a
bit under a mile total, going to the liquor store and back,
because i was out of zigs and goon. i actually could have
lived with that, but no exercise too? HURRRRDFHGJgdfg fuck
it i'm going

that i am arguing with myself: is this dumb? that i give
myself license to bail if i'm seriously dragging before i'm
even to the store.

i put on the ~blade techno opener~ because that sort of
ten-minute, methodically unfolding structure was about right
for an arduous physical journey with crutches. it was a good
choice

way back -- i'm starting to get that feeling on crutches i
get going down hills on foot, sometimes -- like i'm allowing
momentum to be slightly out of control, because i'm up on a
loop of continuous inertia; simply by charging forward on
the crutches hard i actually gain more balance

my muscles are holding out, but i keep having to stop to
catch my breath. this is perfect. i'm not screwing the fuck
out of my arms and here is my missing cardio

...and my abs. when i got really going, wow does crutching
murder your abs. in a good way

tldr: it'd be incredibly stupid for most people to crutch
0.9mi five days after breaking their foot, but i have marked
this ticket WFM

but, yeah. your likely impressions of me, going to back
when, said, "this guy is a lump that sits in front of his
computer all day" and this was actually true until my late
20s. then something in my metabolism changed, i was gaining
more weight without doing much different, and fuck you.

so i started walking every day. then, really, in a way it
all makes sense -- i remember my mom ganking my
ghettoblaster when i was 7 because she was keen on being an
aerobics instructor and she needed to put some tapes
together.

my mom was gym every day until 30 years, and she's still
whining the doctors won't let her go back just yet. sister
bought a vizsla dog because she wanted one that could run
with her properly. kind a breath of relief from my family,
when it finally bit me. like, oh, there it goes. finally
