I can't go to the shop round the corner without multiple joggers breathing past me, why they have to jog in the high street is beyond me (it isn't actually, there's a lot of people out there that can't pass up an opportunity to be an obnoxious cunt). I don't think the science is in about masks, I'm not about to wear one, it's more about virtue signalling than any provable benefit. But at the same time I don't (and never have) cough or sneeze openly, go right up to other people, breathe over anyone... the amount of people touching unnecessarily things in public is amazing. I was waiting in line to get into the supermarket and this guy in front of me was leaning with his hand on a shop window, then started to dig around in his ear then his nose. You don't do that shit at the best of times. I saw a dad lift up his kid so he could push the button on the pelican crossing. I saw a woman, wearing gloves, go through each and every egg in a box, picking it up and inspecting it before putting it back. I saw a woman using the touchscreen shelf checkout then immediately start eating crisps. We don't need masks, there's enough fucking idiots licking the virus up. |

roger wilco ~ i was actually thinking about digging up your post about how summer means fucking leaf blowers, because they have been terrible this week. they show up in the parking lot next door and blow crap over here then my landlady's people show up over here and blow the crap back, always, always approximately 7am when my REM cycle is peaking. today, they were blowing crap back over here with particular vigor; i actually yelled a bit. as if anyone could hear me over the racket. pretty soon, however, they had some old fart over re-painting lines in the parking lot. so, for once, i suppose it was kind of justified, as you don't want to paint over pine nuts. but, yes, there was that quote i blagged twitter of before: there is no power tool more american than the leaf blower; a loud piece of shit that blows trash everywhere |
