I've come to the conclusion that the chemical brothers are still pretty good. get yourself high is a great track, really addictive. They never lost it. |

yeah it's a great album and a perfect end with those 2. i was about 10 when i first heard it and boy oh boy did it make an impression. wore the tape out i played it so much |

oh, yeah. i mostly know dig your own hole, come with us, and surrender. once or twice a year i go through a stage where i'm listening to these on repeat. "the sunshine underground" is particularly good for the train, and on the train a couple months ago, yep, etc. i really want to know more about how they made these albums. i've spent loads of time puzzling over how they arrived at the noises and progressions they did. more than fatboy slim for sure |

another case of "DJ(s) want more to work with than records and start making stuff to fill in the gaps" ? it does seem to fit. there's a lot of sort of scratchy-motion to their buildups. i've used lots of different software setups, exclusively hardware setups of various sorts, a minidisc and a piano, living room jam bands, whatever. but i still haven't ever tried to scratch records. i've always wanted to try it, but it's not like a bass guitar where you can just go pick up a secondhand whatever for $150. chemical brothers, fatboy slim -- they came from DJing. so i feel like i'm lacking for not having tactile experience with it. dave tipper, too. also deus ex DJ |
