London's Metropolitan Police Service released details
about a collision involving an electric scooter and a truck
on Friday

Literally just saw one for the first time in my live, an
twat weaving in and out of traffic on the main road

I'll see people skateboarding through traffic with a phone
in one hand, shopping bag in the other. Anyone I've seen do
this has actually been outrageously good. Blows my mind how
they manage it all with zero fuss. Then the other day some
blond chick was tit-tatting on her phone; walks in front of
a car. She would have been hamburger if someone hadn't
grabbed her. There are those who simply have the city
clocked, and those who aren't aware of the city at all.

A part of me can't wait for some moron to walk in front of a
car. Constantly dodging people -- mostly women -- jamming up
the sidewalk traffic, walking at a crawl, on the phone;
oblivious. Annoying as shit. Another, larger part of me
hopes I will never witness such a thing, because it would be
girsly; brutal. And my memory would ensure I'd be replaying
it mentally in grisly detail later, whether I wanted to or
not.

no idea if it was phones or dumbassery that caused it, but i
was walking to the bus station a few years back and saw the
wreckage of a really bad smash. front of the car completely
totalled, glass everwhere, lamppost knocked over. ambulances
there but the paramedics were packing up in no great hurry,
made me think "oh i get it, don't think there was anything
they could've done for whoever that was". not nice

A regular luncheon discussion at work is, "I saw a wicked
car crash the other day." Fun fact, Boston uses the word
"wicked" just as Brits do

The most recent one that came up involved a Nissan SUV
gunning it on green and a Dodge charger running the yellow
light at 40+ MPH. Xterra like an upended turtle despite the
vastly greater mass

City has thus-far banned escooters, probably because they'd
kill half a dozen people a week.
