i tried to make a new twitter just now. nothing serious; just a joke. it wants email, ok, i make a bullshit email. it wants captcha, ok, i dentify some croswalks and street signs for google's AI training data (aka RECPATCHA). it wants a phone number, ok, i give them a bullshit google voice number but then, every time it rings, i only get the last 2-3 digits of a 6+ digit verification code. obviously, getting "...039" will not cover the check when ... is another three random digits. i am forced to conclude it is no longer possible to register a twitter account without surrendering your actual phone number, or going to significant lengths -- like getting a burner phone. it's sad. twitter was fun, back in the day. make a bullshit account; post crap. have a laugh. now it is invasive data rape, like it wants to be facebook but totally missed the boat |

i was being overdramatic. i think you're a few orders of magnitude above overdramatic. while i respect this, i struggle to find a surface of engagement anyways, back in, like, 2010 you could make a stupid joke twitter and a separate youtube for videos of your dog and this was what made these sites fun -- just create your own little bubble, have a goof, get on with life. the vibe is so incredibly different, now. youtube and twitter are over-run but alt-right trash and tweenage influencers. google's admongering is a perfect match for shit like pizzagate -- "oh, yeah, we have to verify everyone's identity now." and that ruins it for me. it's not that i have much to hide, i just don't really want to sign up with my real name on twitter and engage a tide of angry incel man-children |

Yeah, twitter sucks now. Its useless to invest any time in it, because sooner or later youll get banned anyway. There are also too many retards on there, who are unable to hold a serious conversation. I gave up talking to people on there, and i am amazed how well our democracy still works, with so many close minded people. I however would like to follow a few accounts, and maybe this would be possible with a normal news reader? |

Its useless to invest any time in it, because sooner or later youll get banned anyway. i have to say, i've actually never been worried about that. while making a new twitter is effectively now a bullshit marathon, i do not fear the banhammer over there. youtube, soundclot -- running pop trax through industrial dub mechanics, i've been flagged for copyright numerous times (but not always). honestly, i don't see you get banned by twitter except a) posting flagrantly against TOS shit like threats or porn b) trolling people to the point where you get flagged a bunch. there are even still plenty of porn twitter accounts, despite the fracas about tumblr banning porn i honestly hope your view comes from b) There are also too many retards on there yes who are unable to hold a serious conversation. no. twitter was never about conversation. with 140 characters, you're trading quips and one-liners. people making serious point laboriously label their tweets 1/9, 2/9 to indicate that they're actually writing something... and, universally, it's a jumbled mess, with other peoples' tweets in between; people missing the first 4/10. it is apt that twitter has a bird-theme going on, because birds just yell in short bursts to declare turf or warn about upcoming threats I gave up talking to people on there, i'll drop in for an hour or two on a saturday and via carefully, brutally unfollowing anyone that's crap, i generally have a decent time. but not so good i do it any more than once every week or three i am amazed how well our democracy still works, with so many close minded people. the US constitution is, frankly, a brilliant piece of engineering. so much paranoia built in -- safeguards, checks. if it weren't so solid, trump would have come along a hundred years ago. I don't know why i always get banned. I answer a lot of people, sometimes i get an answer, sometimes not. Sometimes people block me after one tweet. Twitter also never tells me why they banned me. I am probably triggering some kind of algorithm, no way there are mods who are actually reading all the stuff i post. I also try to refrain from threats of violence or insults. This didn't help one bit. Fuck twitter. |

I've never even used twitter. It was too obvious that they were hijacking the internet when I first heard of this stupid shit where you can post limited characters. I mean xltronic has 2048 limited characters, only I think it's not even accurate so its probably like 2030 or something. But that's a lot more than twitter. Sounds like they want your characters limited as a nice chunk format to feed the deep learning algorithms programmed with tax dollars to enslave everyone.
