I have no strong feelings as regards Halle Berry. She's not generally in films I watch and the only one she is in, Pierce Brosnan's fuck-awful coda to his tenure as Bond, Die Another Day, she plays some utterly sexless pixie (called Jinx) that has all the sensuality of catching your younger sister undressing (NOT SEXY). Women in Bond films, unless they're Rosa Klebb or Irma Bunt, need to give the impression that, given the nod, they would totally gobble off Bond. Not Berry. Uh uh. Fucking Jinx, some abortive spin off that never got beyond the "Well, it's Halle Berry and she's a bit sassy... er". And, with her coming out of the sea, to reference Ursula Andres in Dr No... the fucking nerve... God I hate Die Another Day. |

i think she made more sense as a ginger; there's the venus de milo thing that is clearly ginger. but, really, whatever. i'm just happy it was name confusion and they didn't actually cast a 52yo woman to play a teenage girl. i'm still not going to see the movie, i'm just slightly relieved. i view these sort of casting decisions as a general thermometer of humanity's sanity. |
