I always worry about listening to music outside like if I
see something negative I might associate it with my fave
song

i've actually avoided my favorite albums after a breakup or
something, don't want it to start firing up those memories
when i put it on later

but, really, the biggest argument for not listening to music
while walking -- that i get so into it i walk into a tree,
this happened to me in college

after that, i quit listening to music while walking for a
while. didn't want to step in front of a car and die. but,
then i spent a few years doing hardware music, and now my
multitasking is better

ah yeah why is it intelligent people often seem to have a
bit dyspraxia

yeah I tell you what I used to walk around a lot to ceephax
acid crew the sell titled album that was a superb one to
walk around with

snake block (ice rink emotions)

i like prodigy and chemical brothers. i'm a fast walker,
faster than 90% of people, and dance music tempo is about
right for my feet when i walk

my brother is like that I cant keep up with him, he has this
compulsion to overtake people

a while back, there was a company-sponsored "happy hour" at
a bar a ten-minute walk from work. free drinks? yes, i'm
there. but, shit: people are going to walk there over in a
group, and they will walk so. slow. it will drive me mad

so, i wait until everyone is gathering to go over as a
group, and i promptly duck into the men's room, and take a
looooonnnng shit. by the time i de-stall, everyone is gone.
i walk over, by myself, at the proper pace

your brother needs to learn this sort of tactical
sensibility

point was, i acknowledge i'm a fast walker. make
arrangements to minimize impact on others. still meet social
obligations

his own reality half the time, mind on a higher order of
things, mum was saying the other day he never listens to
what she says

It would be totally dubstep turbo if the flames
caught the tree on fire and resulted in 8 fatalities. One of
the leading causes of death in modern times.

All my memories suck, so listening to any song can only
trigger sucky memories. I hate how, when songs are ordered
as the typical case on an album, the brain instantly
predicts the start of the next song at the end of the first,
making it like a shadow attached to the first or something.
All these complex songs probably saturates our memory with
pointlessness, leaving little room for normal functioning
memory, so idm is probably a nwo weapon system to socially
engineer to goldfish memory status.

yeah its true, so when you listen to a track in isolation on
youtube, you expect the next track from the album to start
but it never does,

for me, it is the opposite. when i got home from
my drive, i was still coasting on adrenaline. i wrote
that post in my head, and another two of similar length;
might type those up... in any case, as i did that sort of
post-transcription, i actually got worked up into tears
again simply via poking the memory. just now, i tried it,
and it didn't work. it had degraded. in between, though, as
i was typing up the post, i also felt it again.

memories are just a point cloud of reconstituted experience;
they don't really exist in any particular spot. once the
adrenaline wore off, i was in a slightly different state of
mind, and that made it harder to replay the experience as
precisely.

listening to music, really, is just a temporary disconnect.
once you turn the music off, it fades off pretty quickly.
however, when you put the music on, again, you're in a
similar state to when you last heard it, and associated
memories become more accessible.

more or less, next time i hear "the sunshine underground" i
might think back to that moment and have to fend off a tear
of joy because i'm at work or on the train or something and
i don't want to weird anyone out

i was thinking, "the walk" is probably influenced by the
fact that he has to keep his head reasonably steady or some
contraption spewing flames will tumble off onto his shirt

in college, i got drunk and ambitious; decided i was going
to built a halloween costume. i built a robot head out of
foam and cardboard, spraypainted it silver. took apart a
voice-changing megaphone so when i spoke, i would speak in a
robot voice, and the eyes would light up. got more drunk and
wandered around campus, visiting various venues. almost sat
on someone's tray of cocaine because i couldn't see very
well. i always did better with the stoners

in any case, i'd padded it the best i could, but i could
lean over too far or it'd tumble off. i can only imagine
having fire involved; venting that anywhere except up when
you're wearing a wooden shed could be bad

anyways, yes, i love building stupid nonsense exactly like
this. i'd love to see the guts of the thing
