i had never heard of this word before femspreading The art of women spreading their bags and other carried items on a bus or a train. Often taking up more than one seat and causing discomfort to other passengers. when i took a certain awful train line, women would have these gigantic purses they would use like battering rams -- jam them up into your liver, then look at you like you'd just done something rude. i had no idea it was a thing that extended beyond that (horribly rude) subway line, but apparently, it is a whole phenomenon |

it was actually surprising to me that women were out-ruding the men. it is not really a thing, though, on my current train line. the previous one was packed like sardines; you'd have to let three trains go by before you could get on. everyone got crabby; these are the results |

well i mean i manspread, but it's because i'm 6'4" with ADHD and have long-ass arms & legs, so it's not exactly like i can keep my limbs all in one space comfortably or for very long. but the women with their purses are far worse considering they can just put it in their lap. |

no, it is not a thing. we generally learn not to take up a lot of space. spreading out is unfemine. of course you'll often see women with groceries or pushing strollers, because that's what we do. "manspreading" is a dumb buzzword, but this manufactured shit in response is far more embarrassing. |

i'm about as boring as you'd expect. i laser-eyeball the space available and decide, "ok, that's my half, that's yours." sometimes, people need some surplus space, and i do my best. but my favorite is when they are some tiny person and i can just relax; not worry about the sliding spoon |

Doesn't matter whether you're a man or a woman if you put your bag on the seat next to you when space is limited you're a moron. You can be much more subtle and put it on the floor in front of the seat next to you, that seat will usually then be one of the last ones taken and it doesn't look like you've done it deliberately. |
