its hard to look past a cd cover like the one geogaddi has.
It always seems kind of hypnotizing, making me want to buy
it even though i already have it..

Nope, never.
I think some records have cool-looking covers, but that
never inspires me to buy it. For instance, Analogue
Bubblebath 3 doesn't have an interesting cover, but I still
own and love it!

yes, if it's really well presented then it does look
tempting!

If the artwork looks 'clever' and makes me think then it
will attract my interest a lot more than say a cardboard
promo cd cover!

Not generally...but I hated the druqks cover art.
I still bought it right away tho.

for example if there are 2 records i want but i can only
afford one, and 1 of them has a better cover.... it's an
easy choice.

Not really. All i think of a cd cover is just that --- a cd
cover. Not to say that some of them aren't damned
interesting.

My fave album cover has to either be Beatles' "Sgt.
Pepper's" or Aphex's "Windowlicker."

I love ae's later covers.. hmm, let's say ep7, like the
vinyls. truly amazing.... I love minimalistic art....

I like the textures on the back of ep7. Nice.

tool's aenima

i was looking for aenima everywhere but i couldn't find it,
didn't know how the cover looked. then suddenly i saw this
wicked cd with a changing front! i picked it up and to my
surprise it was the album i was looking for

true story!

A little bit... it doesnt in the end, but at first.. it
grabs my attention. But most times when I go to the store I
know what I want.. or what artist I want to know... - er...
lets just say I do my "homework" before i go to the store so
I know what im doin there.

what's very cool is autechre's lp5's artwork (the frosty
case)! it's more an artowork to touch than to look at! :)

a bit like the music if you see what i mean. (:

If they payed much attention to the artwork, they probably
did the same for the music,so,

YES

good artwork is important for me!

(but there are exeptions)

i like LP5 too. when i went out with the intention of buying
an Ae album (without any knowledge of chronological order or
reviews) i chose LP5 cos it looked nicest...i believe it to
have been a wise choice,
