Favourite Red Dwarf episode?

something about the Alien franchise, magic, sound effects,
and computer games. Something obscure; a YouTube video.

Thoughts on the global conspiracy there is with food atm,
freqy? Monsanto are a right nightmare (A conspiracy actually
worth noting, I’m not taking the piss; Monsanto are
fucking scary) aren’t they? With a few others they really
are at the top of the food pyramid. Anyway.

Did you both enjoy Brittas’ Empire? What are your top
three favourite comedy series?

Name one meal you love!

Why aren’t you listening to the NTS Sessions? Is Aphex the
best there is?

Ok, go!

On a more serious note. If there was a thread dedicated to
you two, chatting and swapping videos and talking about
random stuff, joking around, I’d actually read it!

It seems a shame that we had the renaissance, scientific
progress etc and we have to acquiesce to frankly backwards
ideas. Do Muslim majority countries make cultural
concessions to other religions, I doubt they do, but I
wouldn't expect them too either

It’s gone to shit now. I agree. Originally it was so you
assumed killing the animal, looking it in the eye so to
speak. You couldn’t eat an animal if it died of natural
causes, you couldn’t push your flock off a cliff. You had
to do it yourself if you were to eat it. Obviously that’s
completely lost on them now.

I assume if I was to start slitting animal throats for a bbq
the RSPCA would come around and I would summarily be up in
front of a judge the next day. Its weird how that all can be
circumvented by saying my esoteric beliefs allow the law to
make an exception. Its ludicrous really.

What is ludicrous is eating animals, and yet having a sense
of outrage at animals being mistreated. You seem to think
that the meat you eat comes from humanely killed animals.
That such a thing exists. Even if people think them being
shocked is pretty ok. But what about the life most of these
animals had before that? And is taking away a life ok if
it’s “humanely done”? We strip them of their dignity
and force them to live a horrible life before we off them.
Some slaughterhouses are what I would call hell. Mostly,
cows live in fields, sure, as do sheep. But it’s not like
they can happily live with their offspring. It’s still
below zoo standards, and a lot of zoos are horrible. Luckily
the dynamic is changing with zoos and they’re focusing a
lot more on preserving. Aaaaanyway. I don’t judge people
who eat meat, I ate meat for 36 years and still love the
taste. I just believe people are living in a fantasy world
regarding the issue, comforting themselves that it’s all
“ok” so they can have their burgers. What I don’t
really don’t understand is those that “love” animals
and “respect” life and are shocked at the animal cruelty
videos on FB, and who will chat about it, casually, at
McDonalds. People should be honest and admit that for them
some animals deserve to die (for pleasure of eating meat)
and others don’t.

Kill your own animal and eat it (i don’t mean pet)!
That’s basically what early scriptures were saying. You
have to fully assume what you’re eating. Today I’m sure
at least 50% of meat eaters couldn’t kill an animal, and
20% believe it’s grown or made.

Not that I don't think there is something inherently
unsavoury about eating sentient animals, I'm just making the
distinction between slitting their throat and letting them
bleed out rather than rendering them unconscious before
hand, I think as long as animals are going to be eaten en
masse and I don't see it ending any time soon, I think even
if its a small amount in the reduction of suffering I think
its worth it.

And how can you disagree that it’s perverse not to want to
kill an animal, to put living things in a sort of hierarchy,
to be sensitive about the issue, and yet to eat animals?

I’m glad you assume your consumption. At least that’s
something I can’t argue with. I’ve mentioned earlier I
don’t hate or judge meat eaters. I’m not an activist.

I am surprised at the fact I made like 5 points and you

“humane killing”.

Just one question I’d love someone to answer: is it right
to think so,e animals deserve to die and others don’t.
Like, some species are just better than others. Anyway
it’s in our genes to be carnivorous. And meat is a drug.

killing animals and will gladly say he’s not all emotional

great points dusty. i did type a load but it got too long.

humans are genetically suited to plant based diets. and this
slaughter method is just another example of our values
being eroded.

If people feel they need to eat meat, then stunning should
be used in respcet to the animal.

if efficient stunning was available thousands of years ago
they would have used it then for the animal.

Although some counties do whip and antagonise and skin the
animals alive in front of the other animals as they
(mammals) scream in pain to bring adrenaline into the flesh.
I think morrissey had something to say about this. but got
shouted down for his choice of words.

Also you don’t need to eat meat to be a mslim.

the animals should be treated very well indeed and loved not
branded but perhaps electronically tagged. not harmed. They
should be like pets. stroked and hugged, so they are not
scared.

They are mammals like you and i, but cannot speak, they feel
love and happiness, fear and physical pain.

I think we have an unhealthy relationship with food, from
the way it's fetishised and instagrammed, to mass-produced,
mechanically-reclaimed slurry. It's ALL wrong. Some bearded
cunt piously making it even worse slitting an animal's
throat whilst some other bearded cunt warbles in arabic just
makes it worse.

Animals that I'm alright with being killed for food;
Fish
Seafood
Chicken
Whatever hot dogs are made of.

I never said they were savages, all I was saying was that
their is a incremental improvement in ethics throughout
history, universal suffrage, abolition of slavery, civil
rights, gay rights, so on and so forth. I just giving
exceptions on a religious basis is retrograde in nature. Its
like sharia councils why do we need them, its regressive.
That's the paradox of liberalism it is self defeating in the
end and it allows practices that undermine itself.

In regards to animals ethics id be happier if no animals
were slaughtered what so ever
