i've kind of slept on his stuff, for shame. loved the
eccojams mixtape though, i only recently found out that was
him. any good place to start?

I slept too. Replica, R plus seven is where I started. Good
Time OST is pretty spooky.

You could just start with the one that came out before this
upcoming one: Garden of Delete

Sorry, clearly failing at this.

enjoying garden of delete a lot, reminds me of a more
experimental version of rustie. great blending of real
instruments and decayed trancy synths

it's been a good day for new music!

If I was unfortunate enough to be a critic I’d say OPN is
more mature. I want a Rustie album ten years from now.

got a reminder on spotify that this was out now, just
listening for the first time and golly it's good. almost
like the books or matmos in places, it's aiming for epic and
mostly delivering

I love it, bar when he sings. I can understand he’s not a
singer, but neither is tom waits. In what is a sonically and
harmonically really pleasing album we have these tracks with
him sounding a bit auto tune-ish. I can appreciate there’s
more to the treatment of his voice than that, but I find it
really difficult to take those tracks seriously.
Maybe I’m so out of the loop I haven’t realised that
it’s become widely accepted to use auto tune. Or maybe
it’s sarcastic auto tune, which I doubt.

Come to think of it Tom Waits is a singer. I just would have
preferred those tracks with effects on a raw Daniel. I’d
have tingles I’m sure.

Still can’t get used to the auto tune. Rest is great.

Actually it understand what you mean and agree somewhat.
After spending so many months on NTS, I wish the tracks on
Age Of were longer, had more time to breathe. Clearly
that’s coz of NTS though.
