The killed off admiral ackbar with nary an acknowledgement,

Princess Leia hugged Rey and ignored Chewie in farce awakens

Everyone knows the original trilogy are the real films.
There's no reason to expect disney to get it right. Because
who could get it right? Even George Lucas couldn't get it
right.

Well, according to the prequels, George Lucas thought that
Star Wars should really be about people sitting down and
talking. Apparently he couldn't do that in 1977, there
wasn't the technology, so he had to resort to inventing a
compelling universe.

i could have got it right!

you go back to the mid eighties and dont stop making han
chewie 3p0 r2 liea and yoda (puppet) movies. 1 a year. for
at least 15 years.

real lived in robots and model, ships and droids ....a huge
story over 15 movies.

like the mysterious cites of gold.

All I can think of is that Lucas was drinking heavily during
the preproduction phase of the phantom menace or pain
killers or something

The skeleton in a new hope is a dead krayt dragon. I would
have liked to have seen luke go back to tatoonie and go into
the desert like a prophet, battle a krayt dragon, construct
some new type of light sabre, re found the jedi religion,
battle the remnants of the empire

Haha! It was kind of... beyond a joke. I liked the other
"English baddie" (funny how they're never German...) who
could at least act.. but Fux, goddamn, .... some kind of
Amateur Revue of Star Wars going on there.

One does not simply walk away from the FORCE.
Just when you think you're out, the FORCE will pull you back
in. And it's back. Anyone saying otherwise has just turned
to the dark side.

Also. A plus point is Mark Hamill's grey hair and beardy
look gives my own version a bit of needed fashionable
credibility. Not such the alarming, alcoholic, drug addled,
cockney vagrant look now! It's Last Jedi COOL.

when does one (that’s that lady)

have time to dye her hair purple!?!!

and another one had a perm too!!

like....wt?! at least liea tied it in a way so it was out
the way in buns.
probably had a driod to do that quick as she lay in bed
asleep.

but to dyes ones hair...requires time and effort..repeated
rinsing.

there is a battle on! CGI tie it back with a rubber band in
the special editions please

I thought this movie was wicked apart from the horse riding
which was silly. My mate hated it but he's a big star wars
fan. It was thematically strong to the point that the
overarching narrative was secondary which I had a lot of
respect for but I can easily see why that's not a lot of
people's cup of tea.

Leia flying was pretty dumb. I know she was pulling herself
towards the ship using the force but it looked pretty goofy.

I thought it was one of the better films. The cringe here
and there was nothing compared to the prequels or bits of
the special editions. Mostly RotJ special edition. That
Cantina song..

Jabba's Palace rather...

Just did a marathon run over holiday break. Rogue Machete
order..

Rogue 1, ANH, Empire, Attack-Clones, Revenge-Sith, RotJ,
Phantom Menace, Force Awakens, (TLJ).

TPM seems weird there but it works. Like Pulp Fiction meets
Wizard and Glass, the Prequels act like flashbacks.

I'm convinced lucas didn't have any say in what they added
to those films, he was probably sunbathing on the beach, and
just saying "err yeah ok ok" and signed off on it

I mean specifically the special editions of the original
films

ANH is kitschy enough that it doesn't bother me that much.
At least he had original footage for the Jabba thing. The
cut scenes look nice, but Han shot first and the edit looks
bad.

Empire actually looks good. The Cloud City CGI is a nice
touch.

Jedi however takes what was Temple of Doom level to beyond
Crystal Skull and Phantom Menace combined. That song, Hayden
ghost, changing the Ewok song. That's all Lucas...
