i get afterimages from bright lights way more easy than
most. should i look at a blank wall, the afterimages have a
sort of washed-out red-blue gradient to them. driving at
night can be a bit of a snowstorm with all the headlights
noising up my visual field. i also still feel conscious of
depth in a way i did not before. if i could fix it, i'm not
sure i'd want to.

sometimes my eyes move side to side really quick or I can
see a vascular pulse, one I used to put pressure on my
eyeballs with my hands to try and generate phosphenes, and
I ended up seeing herringbone patterns for a while

Sometimes I'm really blown away by the mental images my
brain can sometimes generate, it doesn't seem possibly I can
see vey complex landscapes that you would imagine would need
immense amounts of calculations to generate, makes you
wonder how the brain actually works because its obviously
doing something different than maths, well I assume so
anyway

I don't really experience it now I'm older, being on
antidepressants probably stops it as well, but when I went
to bed and when I closed my eyes it was like experiencing a
more intense Gantz Graf video

happened to me, perhaps aliens were scanning my mind

Did you see these landscapes like one sees an afterimage? ..
In other words: Did you actually experience a visual
phenomeon vs. just having a really complex and clear image
in mind?

.... What regularly happens to me is that after waking up I
see a wall of Letters, Numbers and Symbols on top of the
normal visual phenomena.

Sort of like
"¥≈ç√∫~µ∂ƒ©ªº∆†®€ƒ
¥≈ç√∫~µ∂ƒ©ªº∆†®€ƒ©ªº
¥≈ç√∫(SDWDA)34823948
¥≈ç√∫~µ∂ƒ©ªº∆†®€ƒ©ªº"

The picture gets more intense when I close my eyes, but is
still there when I open them. It lasts for about 5-10
seconds. It's a bit weird.

its a mental image rather than phenomenon, it becomes
unbidden into my mind, but I can have some sort of mental
control over it in some abstract way if I wish, like a
kaleidoscope

I see a wall of Letters, Numbers and Symbols on top of the
normal visual phenomena.

back in college, i first noticed:

-if i study for a calc exam for six hours, when i go to go
to sleep, i see a cloud of nonsense calc equations floating
around. if i try to focus on any of them in particular, they
evaporate. sneaky buggers

-if i play DDR for three hours while stoned, when i go to
the bathroom to splash some water on my face, i see a
perfect regular grid of DDR arrows superimposed over my
field of vision. like the calc equations, any time i try to
look at one to see what direction it is, it drifts off.

more recently:

if i'm driving for hours and hours, when i close my eyes, i
see nebulous afterimages of cars. unlike with past stuff,
though, i've found if i'm following a white car for miles
and miles i'll often be able to see that clear enough
instead of having it wander off on me like everything else.

i call these "afterimages of the third eye."

catchy, no?

it also happens to my ears when i'm writing music for hours
and hours. flangers can be especially persist-y

if i'm unusually persist-y, does this mean i'm
neuroplatic-y?

sort of like when you point a camera at a TV displaying the
image the camera "sees"?

i thought it would be unbearable schizophrenia plus acid.
what i might be missing is that not every trip has to be bad
though, i guess, or hallucination.

are the hallucinations bad or good depending on the mood you
are in?

set and setting broseph. if you're full of anxiety or fear
about a bad trip the fear will feed on itself, self
fulfilling prophecy. friendly environments make for friendly
trips in general. i had never dropped acid until a few years
after the diagnosis, they are probably the root of some
visual components of the schizophrenia though. not that i
regret it, i learned stuff about myself and had a grand old
time, injuries notwithstanding

i never had hallucinations but i had illusions when in a
constant panic state and it was the most terrifying two days
of my life. so that's why i thought if i took acid in that
condition i would probably just die. but that's because the
anxiety was the worst i've ever experienced.

once i got food poisoning in san jose, highest fever i'd
done darn had on record, vomiting, dehydration, at one point
i decided i was a factory and i had to keep my arms moving
in a certain pattern in order to keep the assembly line
moving. god knows how long i'd kept the assembly line moving
before mum came over to check on me, and freaked out when i
refused to stop moving my arms in esoteric, repetitive
patterns. i didn't understand why she was flipping such a
shit. seriously, mom? you do know the assembly line will
stop, won't it? have you thought this through at all

she eventually grabbed my arms and i reluctantly decided to
stop given that she'd already gummed up the works, anyways.
then i announced i was going to take a bath. i did, and more
or less returned to reality.

the incident has come back to puzzle me many times,
throughout the years. it was an odd pre-echo of all those
hours i spent doing hardware musics

summoned by Cthulu Harvey Weinstein steadily opened the
creaking door, his crooked manhood glistening in the quick
arc of a moonbeam.

"I want to put you in my latest PICTCHA baby"

His bathrobe slowly cascaded over his corpulent frame. A
sweltering mass of flesh, a white tumorous carbuncle in
human form gradually resolving into focus.

your bedroom. you close your eyes and an entirely different

this is like pointing a video camera at a tv, except it's
