i've heard these noises in electronic music, i've made these noises myself, sounds like a lot of things going on. the pipeline goes on for a long way, but there's some turns in it that eventually reflect the sound back, the echo gets a bit trapped for a while, the way air gets trapped in a flute long enough to create oscillations. i can hear the sound energy of his voice being gradually soaked up by things that resonate in higher harmonics, not sure if it's bits of metal or just the pipe being a strange windstrument |

that is fucking brilliant, I remember doing stuff like that when I was a kid, in Liverpool there is (well there was) a lot of old weird tubes and marine related equipment from the golden years of it being Britain's biggest port, huge pieces of machinery you can clang on to generate sounds |
