How/when is everyone planning the new blade runner? Hoping
to see a first night showing in a really horrendous cinema
near me, with leaky roofs and bad sound

I plan to watch it on an iPhone 5C.

Read a good review just now actually. Might have to go and
see this. It’s long! Good to know they didn’t shorten it
to please those with little patience, and no attention
span.

Apparently you come out pretty sure wether Deckhard is a
rep, only to think back and second guess yourself again.
That would be cool!

Is it actually good or just pretty and riding the faux
retrofuturism nostalgia wave? Arrival had a similarly
gushing reception and that was really bland, Prisoners is my
favourite movie of his.

4dx is where the seats wobble and they blow air in your
face. It’s incredibly distracting

own, my mate I usually go with I haven't seen much this year

Really enjoyed this. Totally immersed in the cyberpunk
atmos. Soundtrack didn't disappoint either. Might go see it
again, with different friends.

it was great. soundtrack/sound design was intense

The strongest thing about the original (for me) was the
mix/sound design and how it combined with the music.. so i'm
really relieved to hear that. I was really worried it might
have been poor compared to the visuals..

Sounds like Denis knocked it out of the park, and
understands every aspect of what made the original what it
was.. hopefully seeing it next week

yeah the sound design and score really fit well, added to
the world. glad they didn't try to just flat out emulate
vangelis either, cause it came off a bit silly in the
blackout 2022 anime that flying lotus scored (but thats prob
cause it was all condensed into 11 minutes).

went with my ex last night and we both agreed we need to see
it again at least once to decide if we really like it.
surely visuals are immense and sound/soundtrack helps a lot.
but I had a strong feeling someone tried to sell me some old
moody retro futuristic stuff - sell old ideas dressed up in
new clothes and just recycled and re-used - I had that
feeling when watching Star Wars VII.

it's past 1 am now so I'm surely babbling and as I said I
need to see it again to make sure the plot has any sense
cause I got too distracted by popcorn munchers around me. I
go to the cinema too rarely lol. Yeah half an hour of
trailers and adverts before film is a norm now right ?
Fucked up times.

Cheesy/emotional moments don't work for me cause I'm not the
same person who loved first movie long ago. Too many quotes
and relying on the first film. I might end up watching
BR2049 just once and watch BR again just to feel better and
forget the new one.

BUT anyway K's virtual gf was hot and a cool virtual gf
gadget idea executed quite well imo

*MASSIVE SPOILER AHEAD*

The bit where towards the end Ryan Gosling lays down in the
snow and the music from Roy's "Tears in rain" speech cues
up, an involuntary "Oh come on" escaped from me, and
Ms LOL elbowed me in the ribs. After 2 and three quarter
hours of Ryan Gosling looking blank and then dying having
said nothing profound or remotely interesting they then
remind the audience of the much better ending of a much
better film.

Harrison Ford is awesome. I actually like the main lead guy
too.

id like to see it with a good sound system. the 3d was good
. not over the top. and i forgot it was 3d most the time. no
annoying artefacts. unless i tilted my head a bit.

I don't often go to the cinema these days, and only go when
it's something I really want to see. The last time I
was left seething, angry and bitterly disappointed like this
was going to see Quantum of Solace. I am still cross about
that and I'll be cross about this for years to come.

For all the grit and grime and decay this film is airbrushed
and polished to within a pixel. It's arid, airless. The
only good bits for me was the fight in the Las Vegas
holo-lounge that was going all glitchy, the bit where
there's that surgical missile strike by a drone that I
thought had an air of Iain M Banks about it, and that noise
that goes drrrraaannnnnngggggg every now and again.
Harrison Ford is good and it's great to see him. I could
have done with cutting out most of the 2 hours and 20
minutes he's not in it though.

Quantum Of Solace was absolutely horrendous, as was World
War Z.. both by the same fucking director.

Why is every shot a mid-shot or a close up you idiot

omg

I really enjoyed it I must say, I think my number one
complaint was the way Jared Leto was playing the villain was
a bit camp and predictable, like a creepy uncle

Freqy the dog should get an Oscar, I loved how he portrayed
a dog in a dystopian radioactive las vegas, he was better
than Jared Leto anyway, they should do a spin off just of
the dog wondering around a radioactive las vegas eating bees

I think one thing I can be mostly sure of is that this is a
better film that what Ridley Scott would have been able to
create, he seems to rush his films now
