its worse than 1984 you know because Orwell didnt predict
the technological overload, no one could have, you cant even
talk in the privacy of your own home anymore without
implicating yourself when your just having a joke, thank god
we are as old as we are, hopefully we wont live to see whats
coming

i was planning to do this during a heavy busy hour...hoping
everyone would play along.

yes, didnt mean to go to America...i had to use the Arnie
ref´ in effort to gain umbros´s allegiance within the
unreality bubble.

its true now there is an overlord class that would make
medieval barons cringe, every facet of human activity is
being subtly manipulated and it will only get worse

The only thing i can suggest is that humanity has inherited
a genetic defect for putting up with miserable situations
and being shitty, those are the dominant genetic traits now
that have spread over most of the planet, in that context it
makes sense whats occurring.

in general, i doubt anyone here is interesting enough to
warrant government surveillence. that especially includes
me. this sounds a bit self-effacing, but it's not. when you
get down to it, the people at the CIA and NSA are "boy
scouts." the sort of people who will walk up and accost you
for throwing a cigarette on the ground, because that's
against the rules
and no one is allowed to break the
rules. combine this with genuine patriotism -- single indian
tear shit -- and you get people who generally don't do
anything worse than tap their ex-lover's telephone calls.
essentially, don't date a government spook, and it's
unlikely your comms will ever pass across human eyes

common sense is crucial to security, but a surprising number
of people overlook it. "why does a fucking IM client need my
phone number? there is no reason for giving out this bit of
personal information. since they're asking for it, and
there's no reason, these people are probably a security
risk, and i will not use this service."

i have the same reaction to TVs: why does this fucking TV
need an internet connection? why do i need to sign up for a
samsung account? i'm waiting for the moment when i have to
return an entire flatscreen TV to the store because it can't
be used without entering a phone number. but that's a bit
off, because i couldn't even afford a simpsons tube at the
moment

in soviet internet-of-things, TV watches you

as does nest thermostat
as does telsa motorcar

the tesla corporation can SSH into any telsa driving down
the road like it's their personal linux hack box. definitely
don't date anyone who works for tesla if you drive a tesla;
piss them off and you'll find your car driving off a cliff
as "psycho killer" by the talking head belts out of the
sound system at intolerable levels

yes epic your right that 99.9% of people they dont give a
shit about spying on, what worries me i suppose is that this
apparatus is there now that the likes of Hitler and the
gestapo could have only dreamt about, its sort of all set up
for someone to use is a malevolent way

I was gone a few days. Thanks for the love!

Obviously it needn't be said that Hypers is part of the
Holy xltronic trinity, with Mo' and Freckles.

Had I been here I'd have worried too.

Xlt was down not too long ago and it made me realize
I kinda feel a part of me is missing when it's down, and
also that it's become such an old habit!
