map has an interesting thread going but the scope is a bit
too vast....
here's my three picks

1.Fat Boy Slim
2.Moby
3.Chemical Brothers

I'd have to agree with Fat Boy Slim though man... he sucks a
whole lot...

for the rest, well any cheap dance group that has one hit
and then fades away... I hate them all...

aw come on.. both fatboyslim and chemicalbrothers make
decent dance music. norman cook are probably better as a dj
than a producer though.

and chemical brothers have got some really classic tracks..
like song to the siren. it's not all "intelligent dance
music "and thank god for that.

worst 'electronica':
1) moby
2) late björk
3) boc (ok im just trolling)

offline Spookyluke from United States on 2002-04-19 02:08 [#00183462]

I think the three worst are easily:
1) Lords of Acid
2) Paul Oakenfold
3) Ministry

haven't heard a whole lot, but what I have heard is
alright... Star Guitar is REALLY nice...

yeah.. paul oakenfold, wannabe hollywood trance dude. he's

The more mainstream electronic artists always seemed cheesy
and kind of... ick... to me. Prodigy, Moby, Fatboy Slim,
Underworld, Chemical Brothers... they made me dislike
electronic music for the longest time... that can't be a
compliment.

List of yuckies:

Daft punk (new)
Darude (thank you AMinal for reminding me)
Roni Size (new)
Dieselboy (dnb trash)
Fatboy slim cause he's trash and just makes 'music for the
now' music

Underworld is quite good. I like their newer stuff. I would
like to hear them get back to their Second Toughest in the
Infants sound. Pearls Girl is awesome.

i agree with amonbrune

roni size's reprazent is a whole crap.

fatboyslim just the same style, but isn't the worst artist
i've ever heard. i think Chemical Brothers new Album is a
fuck, they go lame.

WHAT! i cant beleive what im hearing, fatboy slim is great!
just listen to Santa cruz, The pimp or The whole church
should get drunk...you want bad artists try the prodigy,
mobe etc..although i dont know of many bad ones since i dont
buy many bad ones' records. anythiung in the charts is bad.
And fatboy is not a one-hit wonder, hes been around since
the 80's. sort of.

Brothomstates ugh, I cant believe warp published this guy,
if it had been another label I could understand...but
publishing someone who is so "influenced" by your other
artists...cmon...

You guys are maaaaaddd!!!! Brothomstates are greeeaaat! I
dont know how many times I've listened to Claro... I mean
come on, the beats are so crisp and smooth, and the melodies
are just great.... I don't think they're trying to copy ae
either.

Venetian Snares. Love him =) I have the album Doll doll doll
and it's great.

I've heard lots of artist who makes this types of noizy
hardcore/dnb-stuff, but he beats them all... he's got
talent.

I'll have to defend Prodigy. One of my all time favourite
bands. Without having heard them I wouldn't have seeked
other stuff such as Aphex Twin and co. Admittedly the last
album wasn't their best but it wasn't their worst either,
and the wait for the new one is ridiculous. Just my opinion.
Whoever started this topic has made a good one. Interesting
the arguments put forward, I've noticed the phrse sell-out
hasn't been used once either!
