Kind of like in Jackie Brown (movie), there's a quote "blew Beaumont's brains out, oh shit, that rhymes, Beaumont's... brains out". Did you see that movie? Well, I don't know, does Quentin know that that does... not rhyme? Is he trying to portray the character as being too stupid to know it doesn't rhyme, or is Quentin stupid for making a script where he thought it rhymed. Is really perplexes me. I mean it doesn't rhyme. Quentin does seem like a total weirdo who might not be capable of telling whether or not something rhymes I suppose. |

we have a saying in italy about farts 'trumpet of the ass, health of the body' makes rhyme in italian i'd appreciate seeing the actual italian phrase. perhaps even a terse english description of what parts of it rhyme (since i don't know how to pronounce the letters!). heck, anything about it that makes it clever to the italian ear interests me. i've gotten great mileage out of the latin roots for years (abcess, excess, obsess, then i can make ones up like adcess, absass) and now the greek ones have caught my eye (peri = to wrap around, trib = to rub) and some of my nonsense words like chiouxsoughispfool clearly need french letter combos or something before i can get them right. i've repeatedly watched CSI episodes with hardcoded swedesh subtitles and i can half read swedesh. pretty much, i'm ready to go microtonal, here. lay it on me plz |

i'm more like a weird guy that collects bugs and i've just found a supplier of all sorts of weird bugs i don't have and people think i'm just showing off how much i know about bugs i just like bugs and i'm like an excited little kid. making myself look good is something i'll think about in idle moments but then i just start typing and i've forgotten about that angle i'm serious about my bugs. i know a rosetta stone moment when i see one. a fart joke that's funny due to lyricism in italian is, frankly, the best attack vector on the italian language ever. right? eh? |

april 2nd 2004 ~ pretty early on in workinging with VST plugins and cubase ~ i have a song idea in my head and i cannot. get. it. right. the rhythm just is never... the thing. eventually i discovered: i want a 1/16T grid instead of 1/16. that T matters man. had that same feeling. i'm making nonsense words and it's like... no, no, that's not right. i need a bit of chioux i had endless years of latin class. i was the world's worst student of latin. but much of it sank in, given the number of years i had to repeat. mostly what's stuck with me is all the fragments of latin that go into english, because i'm quite into english good now i've taken a hobby to collecting the greek ones. i only have two, so far, but i'm eager to find more. like pokemon then there's an italian fart joke that is effectively walled off from me until i understand italian. now lulz for me i thought: all farts lead to rome. not only do i need to learn calculus, but greek fragedyments and italian rosetta farts |
