You eat what you smell, basically. I think that's pretty
common knowledge now. So here's what gets me with these
things: you can smell the plastic once the very hot to
boiling water has gone in. It really puts me off. I like the
mashed potatoes ones though.

My sister was addicted to the chicken and mushroom one. God,
must have been late eighties/early nineties. It was kind of
seen as smart wasn't it? Astronaut food.

chicken and mushroom pot rice that was my fav too
always the same, you mention them and ppl go 'eurgh' with a
smile and then the end of of that or next sentence is them
fancying one that instant.

My friend used to live by the potnoodle 'mine' (it was
actually a factory), and you could walk around the
wasteground next to it and the little sauce packets they
have dating back 10s of years, all sun bleached.

we have an asian chain in my passage to the trains, its all
the same drenched in oil, wannabe fried noodles though. its
edible but nothing i fancy.
same situation for the millions of kebab and pizza places.
however we have a posh looking kebab place the just puts the
others to shame, preparing everything fresh before your eyes
and serving some traditional soups and dishes aswell. they
even make you a fresh lahmacun (the wrapped/turkish pizza
thingie) starting from the dough as in a pizza place. now
here comes the surprise: the place isnt any more expensive
than all the other crap kebabs. cant imagine going anywhere
else ever since i tasted my first..
