folk music mostly, irish fiddle etc. and cream/eric clapton et al. he's not a big music listener but nothing he likes is boring, at least. i remember he put on klezmer music when i was around ten and i thought it sounded like a bunch of little bugs having a frantic party.

I think Alan and Piers are one of the best comedy duos of all time. Piers absolutely sweet, kind and forgiving. Whereas Alan is pure selfish, greedy and a sadist. I love it. Not as whacky as Richie, but the cleverness of the writing makes up for it.
