sorry, sorry, i meant hugh laurie, but then i took huge
lorry over to train of thought stationed in warsaw. then i
just posted some slightly clever but not terribly memorable
thing i came up with about 45 seconds before opening this
thread. pretty standard, really.

have you watched The Night Manager? recommended.

it wasn't until the series (night manager) was thoroughly
underway that hugh laurie finally turned away from the
camera. and he was bald. it was profoundly disturbing.
like... i dunno. like watching the birth of a hyena. it was
absolutely gruesome. his combover is clearly not one you'd
buy at CVS; professionally done. but there's not much the
stylists can do with his hairy arsehole of a scalp. cannot
unsee. nonetheless, it becomes a major plot point for me,
and i'm trying to catch another glimpse of it in every scene
hugh laurie is in. hair accident. car policy. i just lost
the game.

i'm sorry to inform you of this, but i have a way, way
better When My Dad Was In College story.

When My Dad Was In College, John Cage played the school.
They had him over in the fancy place where the orchestras
play and all the students were dressed up nice.

John Cage and his assisstant (some lady) began doing their
thing; popping balloons with the piano hammers and shit.
Everyone watches this in complete silence. They're not
really sure what to make of this shit.

Then some giggles. Someone else does too. Everyone starts
laughing. Then a fucking riot starts! My Dad says he left at
that point before campus security showed up.

Oh, I missed the best part:

Throughout the whole thing, even when people were tearing up
the auditorium, he kept doing his performance on stage, as
if nothing was happening.

when i was around ten and just figuring out i liked
electronic music, my dad said something like, "When I was in
Germany, someone played me this band POWERHOUSE and I
thought it was awful."

it was probably about fifteen years before i realized
someone had played him kraftwerk before they were big and
he'd absolutely hated it. that about sums my dad up.

I like Piers particularly series 2 and onward, he really
fine tunes his character.

careful you dont OD on it.. there are so many ep's .
probably best to watch one or two a night.

Yes sage advice, i watched 3 young ones a night, that leaves
me enough headspace to differentiate between what ive just
watched

once i used to watch star trek all day by the end of it it
all merged into one episode in my noggin
