having wrecked myself studying the nazi regime for the last
two months I can say you're maybe pushing it a tad. ;D

I don't know enough, but for now I don't think brexit is the
right path to follow.

I'm from Europe and I'm not gonna sing "please don't go" but
if you all do it feels like you could have left us behind
with the Nazi's in 1945.. it feels like a backstab just for
your own benefits. But your benefits will not be as good as
you think I guess..leaving the EU will eventually cost you a
lot more and there will not be the EU to save your ass.

Even more reason we leave, as likely the EU will crumble as
a result. France and Germany will surely hold referendums of
their own soon after if we do.

Even with threat of a downturn in the economy, this sums up
why we need to leave...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2016/06/12/brexit-vot...

...and 72% of near half a million voters agree.

I laughed when I read this. When people say that we should
"learn from history" it's usually in terms of what we
shouldn't repeat, rather than that that we exhaust ourselves
recreating, Herr Dust.

Again, no idea why i'm being 'treated' like this because i'm

I was just having a laugh at the nazi comparison. It always
pops up in debates... just a matter of time.

Also the term is thrown around rather loosely.

I just thought it was funny saying "I've been studying the
Nazis" in the same way one might say "I've been studying the
great masters" or "studying computer science" - I like the
idea, for comedic effect, that someone might "study" the
Nazis in order to "better" themselves. I appreciate I have
been awful on the web lately and I do need to take a break
from social media. Though I don't know where XLT comes into
it. Asocial media?

xlt is the abandoned public toilet in an ever eroding shore
of a flat, dystopian, post apocalypic world, in a continent
that wasn't that good in the first place.

Doesn't count as social or media. It's deeper than the deep
web.

that would have been better in the other thread (mass
shooting). i dont think people should link this incident to
the EU decision. the same with omar in florida. i think the
violence recently will skew peoples feelings but i am hoping
people can stay calm enough to make a sensible choice

the violence is getting out of hand honestly. russian
football thugs are making waves too.

if you are worried about russia: vote remain
if you are worried about islam: i feel i should probably
vote remain. the eu is probably going to become a better
system for keeping out threats than whatever alternative the
leavers have - thats boris or farage. have boris or farage
really got a good alternative to EU?

I think our democracy is a better alternative to a majority
held EU one. It's either we are independant or we get
swallowed by the EU and lose less and less control all for
the sake of economic threat...

“Europe’s nations should be guided towards the
superstate without their people understanding what is
happening. This can be accomplished by successive steps,
each disguised as having an economic purpose, but which will
eventually and irreversibly lead to federation.”

- Jean Monnett : 30th April, 1952

I think a lot of you are completely deluded. Does Europe
need to change? Yes. Will Britain be 'saved' by leaving?
No.

I don't live there any more, and couldn't give two shits. I
hope you all eat your words in a few years though, was the
UK to exit.

offline Hyperflake from Wirral (United Kingdom) on 2016-06-17 14:52 [#02497846]

I think if the EU just stuck to being a trade/travel and
common policy association no one would have much of a
problem. You can definitely tell its moving much more
towards a federal super state which makes me feel quite
uncomfortable especially when you have countries with
relatively disparate outlooks on how things should be.
Loosing more sovereignty to bureaucrats in a land far away
seems like a bad idea to me.

Leaving the EU in the short term might be a bad idea
economically, i think in the long term it might be fore the
best

offline Hyperflake from Wirral (United Kingdom) on 2016-06-17 14:54 [#02497847]

Perhaps none of this matters anyway, the internationalists
and bankers will have there way one way or another, if we
leave the EU they will just get their claws deeper into our
own government, democracy was usurped long ago, perhaps it
never really existed

I don't care about your comparisons. They're meaningless,

obviously to politicise what happened would be wrong as its
a seemingly isolated incident, I genuinely feel very sorry
for her and her family.

it is interesting how this whole EU has divided people
within the UK i cant talk to anyone without having radically
different opinions, that partly why im sick of it, i end up
arguing with my own mother and friends

i think we should Remain though Monoid.

monoid is right

dont hate politicians (all of you like the trumps and
corbyns: protest radical fuck the system types - they are
not proper liberals. they are not plausible politicians.
thats probably why you like them. change your attitude)

dont hate money and banks (you dont have to hate money to be
cool, free, happy, or culturally concious. youre all rich
anyway so get over yourselves. cheer up)

dont hate the jews (hating jews is just hating
modernisation, free trading, free living. when you pretend
israel is evil but you have nothing to say about the people
trump and corbyn endorse as strong/virtuous then youre
lying. stop hating countries like america and israel - stop
hating modernised humanity

Monoid you read about postmodernism didnt you?
