full of manatees

hypersflakes, i have seen people be asked daft questions by
people in the street with clip boards.. and if the person
asking the question nods whilst asking, they generally get a
yes response.

to suggestion, but im not terribly good with coping with
clipboard people makes me panic, im getting better with age
though to say no to these people

hypersflakes.

did you know greedo is in jedi?

as cee3po enters jabas palace as he walks down the steps,
when the dog barks. if you listen in the background = same
greedo sample as star wars, a little deeper pitch though.

just a random bit of triv.

just checked it, your right, it is greedo

what it makes you appreciate is how dense the sound track
is, so many effects and voices, can you think of any other
films that has such good sound design as star wars

offline freqy on 2016-01-21 22:00 [#02491552]
Points: 18724 Status: Regular | Show recordbag

None that come to mind. without Ben Burtt, star wars may
have been a bit tatty due to sound not matching all the
other elements. but he made it great+.

he should have done bb8, but he did not. if you listen
bb8 he does not sing like r2. : ( BB8 could have been great
too. unfortunate.

online Hyperflake from Wirral (United Kingdom) on 2016-01-21 22:09 [#02491553]
Points: 31015 Status: Regular

yeah i heard how bb8 sound was made, was just JJ Abrahams on
an ipad with some app he downloaded, thats why it doesnt
sound great cos he isnt a sound designer by trade,

Show me this ipad app, or freqy post a recording of this
synth preset. Liars!

offline freqy on 2016-01-21 23:44 [#02491559]

yeah with no real voice, its like random sounds, no song.

and did you notice it sounded like someone literally just
plugged in the synth 'dry' with no environmental depth. it
did 'not' sound like it was in the picture, just plugged
in..

way too much low end ...unless the droid had a sub speaker
installed, but even then it was too clean.

unless I expected to notice more environmental effect in a
large cinema?

if it were me id have the sounds played out a speaker and
place the speaker as far as the damn droid should be from
the camera in a similar setting/ room space and then if it
still sounded too dry, to add some slight echo reverb and
cut the low end. its a droid not a synth with direct out.

topped with the crap voice ( except for a few moments) it
was one of the biggest disappointments.

God bless R2/Ben Burtt. thank god they found him in the
70's

offline freqy on 2016-01-21 23:46 [#02491561]

but it could be the cinema L R was too quite relative to the
center speaker?
I was right in the middle.

I shall look forward to the dvd.

Mr. horsefactory you say 'good'

but were talking star wars. ( from an original trilogy
perspective)

R2 is 'legend.'

good really is for tv shows.

“J.J. [Abrams] fucking around with this sound effects app
on his iPad that was attached to a talk box operated by
me,” Hader told HitFix when asked what consulting
entailed. “It looked ridiculous but it made BB-8’s
voice. At first I tried doing a voice, but we all agreed it
sounded too human.”
