I'm running out of shows to watch with my partner, and I'd
welcome recommendations!

Hey, Wavy!

Seen Dexter, but I'll propose it as she hasn't, and lived in
Miami for 12 years.

You can try Orphan Black - a show about clones and such.

I'm now watching Bojack Horseman. It's pretty okay, got
better after a few eps.

Er, thanks guys!

I might show her Dexter as it has intrigue, and she
lived a long time in Miami. Apparently Six Feet
Under
lacks mystery!

I really want show her Twin Peaks, but I feel her
slightly reluctant.

Dexter's Laboratory, ha! "Omelette du fromage!"

We really enjoyed Breaking Bad, Utopiaand
anticipate season 2 of The Affair.

True Detective
Justified
Hell On Wheels
Better Call Saul
pretty much everything by HBO, although the inevitable
disappointment of a cancelled show that has no real
conclusion, such as the likes of Rome, Deadwood and
Carnivale are still superb.

Nothing beats Band of Brothers though. NOTHING. Not even
Cracker, or Prisoner (the original UK version obv...)

band of brothers was top notch tv, i think they are going to
be making one about ww2 air warfare called 'masters of the
air'

Blessed TV series, where would we be without them?

The affair is also something my lady and I watched. <3
Mcnutty

Having a bit of a dry spell tv series-wise. Last thing I/we
watched was Humans. Already spoke about that in a previous
thread. 3 stars out of 5 for that one. My gf however just
devours everything. Always watching something near me. She
needs more quality control imo ;) Although strangely she
hasn't watched Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones! She really
liked Better Call Saul. Go figure!

Must say, even though people don't seem too fond of it, the
last season of True Detective was pretty good!

Caught a bit of Mr Robot. Looked quite good.

About to watch Fear The Walking Dead. Could be good. I like
the girl...oh..that reminds me..google google....Kim
Dickens.... 'Treme' (created by David Simon of Homicide life
on the street, The Wire) is really good. The actress and the
show.

Since last year that i got Hbo Nordic I have been watching
some really great series.
Oz all seasons
Game of throne all seasons
Dexter all seasons
Deadwood all seasons
Battlestar galactica all seasons
Gomorrah
Rome all seasons
The walking dead season 1-3
Boardwalk empire all seasons
The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst (tv mini
series)

And know I am trying Netflix and it seems great.

Watching
Breaking bad at the moment I'm on season 4. It's good but I
think it's overrated at imdb

I recommend them all and especially battlestar galactica if
you haven't seen it and deadwood.

oh come on

also, 6 feet under is brilliant. you're missing something
big here if you haven't seen it. give it a chance. if you
like the sopranos you will like this. it's about humanity,
it's clever, it's well written, the characterisation is as
good as it gets, and the flow of the series is genuinely
superb. AND it has the best ending ever if you ever get to
the end of the 5th series. you won't be disappointed.

or just plump for grange hill. it's all online. :)

sayin.

I cried like a baby after the 6ft under finale. My throat
slowly tightened during the montage and as it ended I
started sobbing uncontrollably. It was an intense, much
needed release at the time. This was after my second time
around, after binge watching all the seasons in a very short
period of time.

(Not that you care)

a GOOD show indeed. Great show.

They're making a 3rd series of Utopia.

Nah I'm kidding.

They're making a comic out of it though.

Nah I'm kidding again.

We won't ever get resolution to that story.

I'm not kidding.

i want more recognition for my excellent taste

peaky blinders was great, but somewhere during the season i
was beginning to fear the story was becoming a standard
romeo and juliet, without the added greatness that the
beginning of the season promised. it just held up, but i'm
curious what the next season will bring

offline RussellDust on 2015-09-12 12:38 [#02488878]

Thanks, all!

Big, your taste is so good it hurts.

I've seen the first few seasons of Six Feet Under, and
really intend on finishing it. I loved the show at the time,
and can't wait to delve back in.

My partner just lost her mum though, so that's not the
greatest show for her right now, though i would argue
differently.

I'll give Dexter a go for her. I loved the first few seasons
but it dwindled in quality I thought.

At the moment I'm showing her Twin Peaks. We'll see!

Portnoy, I think misantroll was quoting Tommy Wiseau in The
Room.
