round1smart bar crowd layout general feeling was ok same as remember from 05 tour lots of mostlies just stnading about not doing much besides that but tunes were great wasnt listening much just having a good time saw cygnus on a staircase didnt try catching anyone out front after show like previous time but all and all same thing only later 10years in time. |

bad timing on my part. i usually assume the headliner won't be on til midnight, but being the first show of the tour and a wednesday night i think they wanted to get done early. doors were moved from 830 to 8, and i showed up a little after 930 when rob hall was finishing up, i was hoping cygnus would be up next but autechre started promptly at 10 and wrapped up by 11 :( rob hall was set up at the back and there were speakers at both ends of the venu, but for the autechre set only the speakers in the 'main' stage area were used. i stood about 10 feet in front of the speakers and it was not loud at all (bass, but no mids or his, and nobody was managing the sound board). they did laptop stuff, listening to exai today sounded pretty similar. much more downtempo than last 2 tours. i got to meet cygnus afterwards and he was super cool, offering to get me in the next night, but since it was nearly a 2 hr drive for me it would have been iffy logistically, and i hadn't made plans to stay in the city. probably could have made it work if i had more cash on hand. oh well, hopefully there's a "next time" first time in portland since last tour (09?), less bald dudes, many wimpy young people wearing black. saw 2 people wearing coil shirts so that was cool. |

I am in NYC right now. I missed the show and regret not making the scheduling work out. Elusive did make the show; I almost saw him but things fell through due to his flight delays. He said the show was awesome and hopefully will post more here. I have failed all of you by not hanging out with elusive, cygnus, and ae, sorry. But elusive definitely went, at least... |

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHH ! nyc flight delayed came in hot 30min pregame warm up few jump shots / 3ptrs to freshen up then heady walk to the show. crashpad friends were late on the prep and forgot to score tix; no go all week so i went on in alone. sound was absolute shitt but no deterrent there. two hands two beers get up front right side clock in tunes start. things got on mental. had such a blast the sounds were out of world inside there. went on felt like they played 2hours was having so much fun. big shakedowns! heard one big moment (krokaw show?) that was recognizable came in as stepped 30s away to replenish both my hands |
