so also, they've probably gained new fans with their new
music as well...

It would be too easy to create "ordinary" electronic music
for those experienced gentlemens. They need new challenges.
Besides, it's all calculated - no random stuff. There are
melodies in all those three tracks, but well hidden at the
first 5-6 listenings... :)

that's what amazes me. the fact that all those sound
sequences and beats and rythms are all calculated! i just
seems impossible to do so. this is why that tracks keep
getting better with each listens. you hear new things each
time.

Well this is the same thing that happened to me with
Confield... I was confused and bewildered at first, but now
I listen to it every day. This new EP may turn out like
that...

Everytime I listen to Cap IV, the beats and sounds make more
sense... so maybe it's growing on me... well, it's doing so
very SLOWLY! :-)

well.... 'calculated' because they made their own machines
in MAX/MSP and Kyma... its not like they sat down to a
sequencer and placed each click on a grid with a sampler or
somehing...

thats what i'm saying

it's not being "diehard" a smuch as it is being open to new
things

if youre diehard i think you are just listening to the music
as a custom and not cos you really want to

its like religion

I think the new EP is great. I'm a long-time Autechre fan
if not a diehard fan. I like bits and pieces here and
there. Some things i love, some stuff I don't care for.
Autechre is one of my favorite bands--but I can't pretend
that I think every piece of their music is perfect!

I hate to survey the board, but is the general consensus
that Cap.IV is the best? It's my favorite--I love the whole
EP though! Confield wasn't a favorite of mine for a while,
infact, I heard it and put it away for a long time. Then it
grew on me around Drukqs' release time.

Phobia: thx 4 posting those samples! i still want very badly
to hear the whole thing, but i'm forcing myself to wait
until the EP is released...
