how about floating an actual point of debate, rather than
something too stupid to even get anyone angry?

for example: "model 500's album "mind & body" is better than
syro." because it fucking is.

i was wondering about that name, actually: model 500. i
typed it into wiki, and it came up with this:

Model 500 may refer to:

* A pseudonym used by techno music producer Juan Atkins
* Smith & Wesson Model 500, a revolver
* Model 500 telephone, a model manufactured by Western
Electric

so it's a communication device, but also a weapon. makes
sense. like it.

did you just search for a pre-millenial text,
containing the word hipster???
also:
how many times can the word hipster be posted on a forum,
before it becomes totally hipster?

not only containing hipster, but also APHEX TWIN :)

besides that dude who wrote that hipster handbook cited Warp
as hipster. So maybe our dear friend djhardcode has a point.

Every time I think I've warmed to you, you go and say
something like: "besides that dude who wrote that hipster
handbook cited Warp as hipster. So maybe our dear friend
djhardcode has a point."

'Hipsters' listening to Warp does not make Warp 'hipster'.

Do people realise that the original hipsters shot up heroin,
and were actually nothing like what the term is used to
describe today?

Just like "hipsters" listening to Aphex doesn't make Aphex
"hipster".

Today it seems hipsters are seen as those that are desperate
to be cool, but who are actually fake, that it's all
pretence, a farce to appear cool and to be liked. Maybe
people should go and read about what being a hipster meant
when the term was originally used.

You may call it hipster, you may use another term, but you
cannot argue the fact that warp is lame. There are people
who fail to recognize this, whether it is through their own
lack of taste, trying to jump on a trendy bandwagon that
left over 10 years ago, or live on Internet forums, you
could make the argument that they could be categorized
somehow. Hipster fits well because while not everyone in
this group is a hipster per se, it still loosely defines
unauthentic people struggling to find their identity in an
unfortunate age of artistic dearth and internet shallowness.

youre finally talking but,
you make it sound a bit like people liking/discovering
artists
or genres to define their outer personality in their youth
was
something that never happened before.

instead you could just say:
man i dont like the stuff warp puts out nowadays
and their success angrys me.

i suppose "hipster" is two things:

1) the fine line between edgy and ridiculous
2) how people who take themselves too seriously have a
tendency to overstep that line

True, but they're not the majority when it comes to having a
beard. They don't own that choice of style.

If you see someone with a beard and headphones, you can't
blindly assume that person is a hipster, and if you see a
guy with no headphones and no beard, you can't assume he
isn't.
