It's nice to be here. :-)
I just discovered the platform by looking for a V/Vm release. I'm (obviously) interested in experimental, also dancefloor, electronica etc.
Best, Valentin

welcome valentin
youve come 2 a dangerous place. there are ppl here who will try to attack u for liking music and caring about stuff in general. if u show signs of weakness they may try to recruit you into joining there own hateful groups. but if u stay strong you might find parts of this internet community to be OK

As a new member to any forum, always beware the first 5 people that reply to you.

I don't speak for anyone else but as far as I can see, it isn't so much about "attacking" people for liking certain kinds of music; people can listen to an enjoy whatever they want, that's a given and an accepted standard. I think what annoys most people is when you have groups of kids that band together and get all in their element. Like a bunch of jocks in the library, they act up, seek attention and disturb those quietly trying to enjoy their book and educate themselves. This is then exacerbated when these individuals proceed to inevitably supply pro-bono music reviews and suggestions, and when some have mod powers, they are able to bend the rules, blur the lines, and in effect force other members of the forum to assimilate to their tastes and the trends they follow, or simply get banned. It creates a monochromatic, one sided atmosphere where the only people who are left are ones who are too afraid to speak their true thoughts cause they'll get banned, and ones who kiss the mods asses all day.
Of course, this never, ever, happens on electronic music forums. Ever.

Also another way that you are completely wrong imo is that whenever someone posts that they like something, they are far more likely to get "approval" from other members of the forum, while it is those who say they dislike something, that get chastised.
Obviously it is within every record label executive's interest for you to like everything - if you loved everything, they would be rich and you would be poor. That's why the entire music review industry is based around mostly positive reviews, gotta have some bad ones to make it look legit, but at the end of the day, its all about people making a living. Look at the state of the music industry, its in shambles and everyone involved is scambling to counter the effects of piracy.
So basically you are a huge clueless tool if you read review sites like pitchfork and take them seriously, and are only aiding the corporations and their executives in lining their pockets. Unfortunately this comprises 95percent of the people who come to forums like this.
