I think it's more along the lines of the culture over at WATMM of people clinging onto the coat-tails of established artists and using their hard work as a platform to push their own personal agendas. This was cemented once the site owner decided to start charging people for membership there. I believe what causes anger is something to do with the fact that the site owner has never contributed to any of these works for which he is charging money for people to talk about. I also suspect that he has never even tried to make electronic music, so he comes across as just a parasitic consumer who will never give anything back to the community, and even go as far as to try and take money from ppl for others' hard work. |

If I was that piece of shit, i would attempt a deal with label owner or artist directly. I'm not sure why the 3rd-party is doing scaling up this situation. so, if i get it correctly : someone posted the caustic window unreleased for sale on discogs for 13.500 + joyrex making a kickstarter to buy it and distribute digital files of it amongst backers So someone will be making big business, on an album only 4 persons had : richie, grant, paradinas, ? Everything under the permission of Rephlex/afx, who also have the vinyls and could rip it and distribute amongst the backers avoiding the tricky big business of the discogs guy... the only logical conclusion is that the person selling it is one of the 4 rephlex guys trying to get some money. Its not really a big deal at all. The tracks are 14 years old and based on other eay afx, I am sure it is disappointing unless you are the type who would allow 35: to give you a golden shower. Personally, I won't even listen to it, just like I don't listen to any other rephlex, because they're so trendy and people like you listen to it. |

i dont know what they planned but thats how it happened joyrex EXPLICATELY says on his watmm page he NEGOCIATED WITH REPHLEX to lower the price, which basicly says the seller is aphex twin or the other guy who makes rephlex records. u cant negociate with rephlex if there not the seller ok maybe the seller "technically" is not them but if thats true the seller is a person like a art auction company. yes they are technically "selling" but they dont own the priceless work of art when aphex twin put up the record for sale he just wanted to get a lot of dollars. so joyrex comes along and says i should get my frigin stupid as hek forum members to pay for this record by telling them ill rip them some mp3s. but then a light bull goes off in joyrexes head and he realizes his good buddy aphex twin would not like him selling illegal copys of his music. so joyrex thinks maybe my friend aphex twin will give me permision 2 do that. so he calls up aphex twin (not realizing aphex twin is actually the sller). aphex twin like any shrewed business man sees a opportunity, (1) to sell the record cuz when u sell a expernsive thing like that u dont always expect 2 get list price u probably are gonna go down on ur price just like if ur selling a house and (2) he sees joyrexes proposal and thinks WOW I GET DOUBLE PAID THIS IS EVEN BETTER. if aphex twin was NOT the seller theres no way hed agree to the deal. think mathametically about the 4 cases APHEX TWIN/REPHLEX IS THE SELLER and THEY DONT WANT THE ALBUM RELEASED - if thats true they would not even sell the album and definitly they wouldnt agree with joyrexes kickstarter plan. this makes no sense APHEX TWIN/REPHLEX IS NOT THE SELLER and THEY DONT WANT THE ALBUM RELEASED - see above, even more true they dont want it released so bad they arent even selling it APHEX TWIN/REPHLEX ISNT THE SELLER but THEY WANT THE ALBUM RELEASED - if they wanted that they wouldnt of sat on the album for 20 years. and also how could they negociate the price if there not the frigin se |
